We had the good fortune of connecting with GoldSummer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi GoldSummer, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Creativity has always been my thing. For years, I’ve been interested in how brands could influence and motivate others to aim for higher levels of purpose and generate good vibes. The overall picture of ownership has also been really intriguing to me. Something about having the ability to create whatever I want, when I want is such a dope concept because it puts the control back in the creative’s hands. Combining the two interests of creativity and ownership is how GoldSummer was started. I wanted to create a lifestyle brand that reminds you of that forever moment, so no matter when you think about it, it creates good vibes.

What should our readers know about your business?
GoldSummer is a lifestyle! Anything that creates a great moment to you – that’s a GoldSummer. Our products are designed to bring you back to those memorable, past or present, moments in your life. We have a range of unisex pieces from hoodies to tees to hats and even cups for when you’re creating those memories with your people. The brand’s creativity is really what sets us apart from others. You’ll definitely be able to see that creativity in our upcoming collection. Getting the brand to where it is today definitely has not been easy. I’ve spent years doing research, learning the ins and outs of fashion and observing how the industry operates. Starting the brand during Covid added another level of challenges due to delays with materials, products and even lack of resources. But we turned those challenges into lessons and continue to build and grow every day. GoldSummer is just getting started! We’re more than a clothing brand. Y’all can expect to see us expanding into new lanes very soon.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I can honestly say Atlanta, during the summer, is the one of the best places to catch a vibe. There’s always something to do and the endless food options is amazing. My first stop would definitely be Toast on Lenox. I enjoy the energy of that spot and the food is fire. But make sure you make your reservations in advance. After brunch, we would head back home to refuel before we start the night, The next spot would be Revel, which I feel is one of the best night clubs in the city of Atlanta. Of course, we have to end the weekend off at another brunch spot somewhere downtown Atlanta. From there we’d probably check out the local shops at Ponce City Market. It’s important to make sure you support the small businesses in your city. You never know what you’ll get into out here in Atlanta but that’s what makes it dope.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’ve been blessed enough to be around some knowledgeable and talent people who have shared their expertise with me. With all the information I consumed over the years, I was able to piece everything together, put my own touch on it and incorporate it into my business plan. I’m big on choosing to spend my time around the right people. So just shoutout to those around me who have contributed to the success of GoldSummer. Just know I’m learning and paying attention because you never know where a gem is going to come from. It’s key to keep your mind open!
