We had the good fortune of connecting with Gloria Ward and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gloria, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I knew I wasn’t the only one who went through a period where you start to question who you really are and what you really want out of life. I had to take a hard look at myself in the mirror and when I did, I was not happy with who I was. I was abusing alcohol, working at a job I did not like, and on a brink of a divorce. I knew I had to make a change and make it fast. Most women facing a type of life changing event do not have anyone to turn to, I created the I’m Loving Me Project so they can have a community of women who will understand them and help them discover who they really are.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The I’m Loving Me Project is an online community for women looking to live their highest and truest self. Who are ready to make the necessary changes in life to experience those things they believe are unattainable due to life’s ups and downs. What sets us apart from others is our transparency. Our coaches and teachers share their stories not only as encouragement but also as a way to let the women know that they’re not alone. It’s been three years and we still have a long way to go. The community that we’re building is a sisterhood. A community where you come to self-heal but you also reach back and help the next woman. There are so many challenges that go along with that but I’ve made a lifelong commitment to see it through. The biggest challenge I would say is making sure you have a great team on board that believes and want to invest time and effort just as much as you do. You can’t grow unless you have a good team behind you.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Breakfast at Barneys- Great breakfast and brunch Civil Rights Museum- Fantastic history and culture Blu Cantina- Great music and food. Whiskey Mistress- Great music Slim and Husky’s – Fantastic Pizza
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shout out to my team at The I’m Loving Me Project for their dedication to the mission and vision. Shoutout to all of our coaches who are just as passionate as I am to help women take their lives to the next level.
