We had the good fortune of connecting with Ginette Nean and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ginette, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
when I decided to open my salon, I wanted a place that was relaxing and inviting. I wanted clients to have a option to be versatile with their natural texture hair

What should our readers know about your business?
Djea Natural Hair Spa started in January 2010. our focus is to make natural hair easy by guiding each client step by step on their personal journey. we focus on consulting the client about their hair to see how we can better serve their need which will create a easier way for them to care for their hair. business was not easy in the beginning , I had to learn over and over from my mistake. I had to take responsibility of what wasn’t working in my business and get the help from expert on what i didn’t master business -wise. what i have learned along the way was to not take it personal what ever conflict or situation. Learn to practice clear communication by getting the information you need from the other person. what I want the world to know about me is that I had to learn to practice self love. being an entrepreneur can be tough and practicing self love can help you get through the difficult times

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
well lately I have been hanging out on zoom with internations.org it is a membership social group where you get to meet people from different countries and network or create new friends. Before covid-19, we use to meet at different restaurant in the Atlanta area. one of my favorite one was Two urban licks. i love their salmon appetizer. i love to hangout also at piedmont park . during the summer , they have some fun activities. for more family oriented event check out also stone mountain park

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have a huge list of people I can recognize for the support , mentorship, love and encouragement. I want to first start with my mom and Dad. They are my biggest supporter , they were the one who first invested in my business. they gave me the foundation to be resilient and to never gave up on my dream . God as my rock, who i talk to and allow the holy spirit to guide and direct my path. and sick wisdom. I also took a lot of self development courses . had several coaches . to name a few, inspiring champions, Kolour kulture by Kea Neal, Oscar Valencia (braking down your walls) etc.. my biggest encouragement was my many failures, it helped me to reflect and see where i need to improve and grow
