We had the good fortune of connecting with Gertrude Holloway and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gertrude, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
Having the courage to launch a business is a risk-taking decision. Knowing that out of a million people in the world, I have something that’s vintage and has its own unique taste. Starting this business has taught me to receive more ways of networking with more individuals to expand.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Creating my small business has always been just a thought, yet life lessons prepare you to test yourself. Art has always been a passion. Have you ever listened to music and closed your eyes? That’s how cooking food makes me feel. So, overtime colors became to speak just like music then I became lost with food.
I’m proud of myself for moving forward with the decision to start my business with cooking. Over time I’ve collected so many notebooks and drafted ideas, something had to shift. So, I’ve changed the beat to my own tempo. Started a new notebook and decided to create more ideas.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Dedicating my Shoutout to my children; Marcus, Maurice, and Layla. Cliché’ as it may sounds, a mother’s love is just a mother’s love. Simple!
