Meet Gellisa Fevrier | Beauty Educator & Curly Girl Specialist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Gellisa Fevrier and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gellisa, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
One of the most important lessons my business and career have taught me is that education and confidence go hand in hand, not just for my clients but for myself as a stylist and educator. When people truly understand their hair, they embrace it with pride, and that transformation is powerful. I’ve learned that my role isn’t just about styling, it’s about teaching, empowering, and helping others see the beauty in what God has already given them.
Another key lesson is that trusting God and staying true to my purpose brings lasting success. Every opportunity, every client, and every lesson I’ve learned has been part of His plan. By walking in my calling, keeping faith, and using my gifts to uplift others, I’ve seen doors open that I never expected. My business isn’t just about hair, it’s a ministry of confidence, education, and embracing the beauty God created.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is rooted in the beauty of natural hair and the confidence that comes with embracing it. As a Curly Hair Specialist, Educator, and Client Retention Expert, I don’t just style hair, I teach women to love and care for their curls, kinks, and waves in a way that feels authentic and empowering. What sets me apart is my deep focus on education, transformation, and self-acceptance. I want my clients to leave not only looking beautiful but also feeling knowledgeable and confident in maintaining their natural hair.
One of the things I’m most proud of is the impact I’ve had on women who once struggled to embrace their natural hair. Seeing my clients light up when they finally see their curls flourishing is an indescribable feeling. That’s what excites me the most—helping people fall in love with their own beauty, just as God created them.
Getting to where I am today professionally was far from easy. The beauty industry is competitive, and there were moments of self-doubt, financial struggles, and times when I felt like giving up. But my faith in God, the support of my husband, Dimitri Fevrier, and our three curly hair daughters Winter , Summer and Spring and my passion for helping others kept me pushing forward. I overcame challenges by staying consistent, investing in my education, and never compromising on my values.
Some of the biggest lessons I’ve learned along the way are:
• Authenticity wins—staying true to my mission has attracted the right opportunities.
• Education is everything—knowledge builds confidence, both for me and my clients.
• Trust the process—every challenge has been a stepping stone to something greater.
This is my ministry, because I was once insecure and didn’t see myself, nor my hair, as being enough or beautiful. I want the world to know that my brand is about more than hair. It’s about empowerment, self-love, and embracing the beauty that God has already given us. I believe that every curl, coil, and wave tells a story, and my goal is to help people wear theirs with pride. Whether you’re a client looking for guidance or a stylist wanting to learn, I’m here to educate, inspire, and transform.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If a good friend visits, here’s how I’d show them a great time:
Day 1
We’d start the day by attending Word of Life Church in Flowood for some inspiration and good vibes.
Afterward, we’d grab coffee from a local spot and head to a nearby park for a walk. I’d bring some snacks from the $1.25 store, and we’d jam out to an upbeat worship playlist while taking in the scenery. Of course, there would be plenty of pictures and videos to capture the moment.
Day 2
I’d take them to Korean Yakiniku Korean & Japanese BBQ. The grilling experience is always a fun time, and the food is amazing. For a lighter option later, we’d grab something from Poke Stop.
Then, we’d hit up FunTime Skate Land in Pearl for some roller skating. It’s such a vibe, and we’d definitely capture a bunch of fun moments.
Day 3
We’d spend the day exploring some local spots, hitting up cute cafes, and maybe even catching a movie. You know we’d have to load up on snacks while we’re at it! And of course, there would be plenty of pictures and videos to remember all the fun.
Day 4-7
I’d keep it chill, with more walks in the park, snacking on goodies from the $1.25 store, and vibing out to our favorite worship tunes.
We’d continue hitting up local spots, trying different food joints, and ending some nights with movies, snacks, and good conversation. And you know we’ll take lots of pictures and videos to look back on.
It would be the perfect mix of good eats, fun activities, and just enjoying each other’s company. Nothing beats a week full of laughs, good food, and great memories all captured in pictures and videos!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my husband, Dimitri Fevrier. His unwavering support, love, and encouragement have been a constant source of strength throughout my journey. From the late nights of building my brand to the moments of doubt, he has always been there, reminding me of my purpose and pushing me to keep going. His belief in me and my vision has played a huge role in where I am today, and I’m beyond grateful for his presence in my life.
