We had the good fortune of connecting with Gbabii (Gee) George and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gbabii (Gee), is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor of my success is hand’s down my children. That’s with not only talent management but anything I feel successful in at this point in life. I was born & raised in Macon Ga.
Unfortunately , we don’t have many modeling or Acting Anything in that location. No talent schools , no studios , no anything to help you progress in the modeling / acting industry. Yet so much talent in a small city.
My oldest daughter (Ziannah Dennis) just wanted to be on camera at all times. She would play YouTube on my phone Or pose for pictures daily. I started her Instagram account on my own just because her pictures where being posted on my personal account so much it was starting to look more like her’s. I grew the following on my own. Not knowing how big social media for a baby could be….. She soon started getting contacted to actually just post a photo wearing clothing for small companies or brands. I gave birth to my 2nd daughter soon after (Khaloni Dennis) & changed the Instagram name over from ZiannahAbella to The_DennisSisters.
Once I did this I started to learn alot more about finding your target audience to keep the girls interactions up on post. I took it really seriously because the girls where receiving free things such as toys , clothing, money etc. Just from pictures being posted on Instagram. I found a coach in the Atlanta Ga. Area which was like a hour away from our home & let the girls start training. My kids keep getting looked over in the industry & that really bothered me because I started to see how much talent they really had. So I started learning , thru observation on things I could do to better my children’s success. In 2019
Both of the girls got their first major acting Modeling and social media influencer jobs because of my pitch of a tv show about kids who started as models on social media & work their way up to actually real commercial print models / actress in the industry. This opportunity opened doors for the kids to be on billboards , magazines & influencers for some amazing companies. The best part was that I got the opportunity to create the narrative & offer this opportunity to other kids as well. Which was how I started my talent management career. After successful completing my series I helped my kids & two others.
I knew I had a passion for all of it. I knew at that moment I wanted to do talent management FULL TIME & be more than just a mom on the sidelines cheering my kids on. I wanted to be a real talent manager for kids. I had the idea before (before I even had kids) of being a talent manager but for adults who wanted to strive in the music industry. I have a strong passion for ALL TALENT music , modeling , acting , etc. Everything in the entertainment industry is exciting to me.
Unfortunately , the adults I choose to work with didn’t put in as much effort as I expected from a ADULT. I FOUND THAT CHILDREN are naturally energetic , naturally positive, STRANGELY the children take directions better & are ALL AROUND MORE SERIOUS than SOME adults. When a child really love’s what he or she does they put their whole heart into it & it shows. This is what made me focus on being a kid talent manager.
Today I manage 6 amazing kids (2 of which are my own) I have helped all 6 kids strive in The industry from print modeling jobs , voice over gigs , tv shows , billboards & so much more.
The kids have had the opportunity to work with brands like Zuru Toys , Kidpik , Lifetime , Starz, paramount pictures, Netflix & more.
I have successfully helped my kids & my 4 other talents grow all around even with social media to grain a strong support system & maintain high interactions & page traffic to continue Gainning influencer jobs and stay active even when not working on set as a print model or actress they are still working frequently.
I never would have had the opportunity to learn myself in this industry if it wasn’t for the love my kids have for their own career. And the love & ongoing support they show me ziannah & khaloni are always motivating me & tell me I can do anything. I appreciate them so much for that. They changed my life for the better and I’m so proud of who I am because of them.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Being a talent manager I would say the thing that sets me apart is I’m always looking for kids who are not always the center of attention I love kids who people never would have expected. I like to find the talent is the shy kid you think would never open up. For me those are always the ones that shock you. They always start out shy & with the right training & right people on their team (not just me as management) but having a kid talent is a TEAM EFFORT you need a supportive parent who is just as supportive as I am as a manager. A kid needs a whole team behind them and everyone on that team has to work together for that Particular talent to be 100% successful. I’m most proud of the fact I took on other kids and have literally done the same job I do for my own kids for them. It was so hard to have people that actually believe in you and the job that you do. I founded very consistent parents who work well with their children, who work well with me. I found very respectful talents who show respect to me & others. They all complete deadlines & continue to show Growth in the industry that makes me proud.
I’m also proud to have grown so much from working for small Instagram shops to actually having my talents work for big name companies & brands now. I literally learned how to grow my talents and my kids at the same level of success my goal is to make sure ALL MY TALENTS feel equal like no child (not even my own two) are receiving more or less than the other. Which is why I choose to work with a small amount of kids year round to insure everyone is staying booked & busy & feeling needed. I think all kids should feel needed in the work they do. I also feel all kids should feel equal because we are all here for the same reasons. One child is not better than the other. I have LEARNED first hand that these big brands will hire the biggest influencers & the smallest influencers and at the end of the day we all sit in the same section. JUST BECAUSE one kid following is more than the other ….we all getting booked & paid for the same job. NOBODY IS BETTER THAN ANYONE in a real social media influencer world. It’s just about how hard your work.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite place in Atlanta area right now is illuminarium atlanta the atmosphere is so peaceful & claiming like you have to check it out at night it is so beautiful & relaxing you would love it . (And in the day time you can take the kids for a cool family friendly activity)
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My kids are the biggest part of my success and they are the only once that deserves any credit or recognition because they showed me who I was , they gave me a purpose. Before having my kids. I was a rapper and yes being a rapper was definitely the first thing I ever loved in the entertainment industry. But once working with my kids opener doors for me to become in management of other children I founded the true joy of having a place in every part of the entertainment industry I got to see things from a different point of view. I feel like because I use to be on the other side of being a talent myself I know what I wanted as a rapper I know what to provide to a talent . Meaning I know they want the right person to lead the in the right direction someone who actually has their Best interest at heart , supportive, and motivates them to be their best.
