We had the good fortune of connecting with Gamesia Tate and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gamesia, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I no longer wanted to work for anyone else. I was at a point in my life where I wanted to do more for me and bring old visions and dreams back and make them a reality. I’d much rather invest that time into me and build an empire for my family and generations to come.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is also about women empowerment. I targeted the everyday, hard-working millennial boss woman to still give us a youthful and sexy look, but will also show that you’re about business too. Sometimes we can easily let ourselves go and we need that reminder that we need to look boss too. We have an image to keep up! You don’t have to wear designer to look good and our clothes will give you that luxurious look our customers crave so badly.
Some major challenges I have found with running a business is that you have to stay consistent and engage with your customers. I still struggle with that from time to time but you still have to make sure you show up and show out for yourself because if you don’t, then who will? I found that staying organized and writing stuff down helps. I try to keep a schedule as well, just so I’m not giving all my time to one task because it’s easy to lose track of time when you’re super focused.
Whatever you’re going through, struggling with or whatever, write it down on a piece of paper and burn it. Start over. Start fresh. Anything you want, you’re going to have to work hard for it. But never ever give up on it. I still have to tell myself this sometimes but it’s the absolute truth. Just keep going. And one day you’re going to look up and see how big that tree is that you planted some time ago, and oh how it blossomed.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I haven’t been in Atlanta that long to really know what’s hot like that(lol). I’ve came across a few restaurants and lounges that I liked.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I always have to give praises to the most high. Anything and everything is possible through God. My fiancé is always pushing me to be great so I am beyond appreciative of his support. My sister-in-law has been a great mentor and helping me with anything I need along the way. My family and close friends are my motivation as well. I’m doing this for them, not just me. I want us all to eat!
