We had the good fortune of connecting with Gabrielle Minion and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gabrielle, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Photography gives me a profound sense of purpose. There’s something truly magical about capturing fleeting moments and transforming them into timeless memories. My focus isn’t just on the artistry itself, but on the emotional impact it has on others—there’s something deeply meaningful in that. Helping people see themselves in a new light through my work is incredibly rewarding. Whether it’s capturing a groom’s reaction as he sees his bride walk down the aisle or helping a brand redefine its image, the joy of watching someone light up when they see a beautiful photo of themselves never fails to inspire me. My business was built around the idea of creating a space where people can visually recognize their own value, beauty, and significance—whether in personal or professional contexts. Photography, for me, isn’t just a business; it’s a passion.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My photography business is rooted in the belief that every moment is worth capturing. It’s not just about taking pictures; it’s about telling stories and preserving memories that last a lifetime. What sets me apart is my focus on creating images that truly reflect the emotions and essence of the people or moments I’m capturing. Whether it’s the raw joy of a wedding day, the quiet confidence of a professional portrait, or the vision behind a brand’s identity, I approach each project with the intent to highlight what makes that subject unique.

One of the things I’m most proud of is the ability to help others see themselves in a new light through my photography. Watching a client’s face light up when they see an image of themselves that truly represents their beauty or strength is incredibly rewarding. It’s that emotional connection to the work that excites me the most.

Getting to where I am today hasn’t been easy. Building a business in a competitive field like photography takes persistence, continuous learning, and the ability to adapt. In the beginning, I struggled with defining my style and finding my niche, but over time, I learned to trust my instincts and focus on what felt authentic to me. One of the biggest challenges I faced was building a client base and getting my name out there. The key was networking, offering quality work, and building strong relationships. Word of mouth has been incredibly powerful, and the more I stayed true to my passion, the more people recognized the value I brought.

Along the way, I’ve learned that success doesn’t happen overnight, and every setback is an opportunity for growth. Patience and resilience have been my biggest lessons. Also, staying connected to my “why”—the reason I fell in love with photography in the first place—keeps me motivated during tough times.

What I want the world to know about my brand is that it’s not just about taking pretty pictures; it’s about capturing the moments that matter most to people, whether personal or professional. I want my work to resonate with others emotionally and leave a lasting impression. My story is one of passion, perseverance, and a commitment to helping people see their own beauty, strength, and value through the lens of my camera.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m an avid coffee drinker, so I’d take my friends to a local spot downtown called Parlor Public House for the perfect cup of coffee. But, since you can’t live off coffee alone, we’d head to The Garden Table, my favorite brunch spot, for some delicious food. To wrap up the day, we’d catch a movie at The Living Room Theater.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I owe a great deal of who I am today to the many people who have played a vital role in shaping me. Among them, I’d like to highlight my dad, my mom, and Simone Walls. Their unwavering encouragement and support have been instrumental in motivating me to relentlessly pursue my goals.
