We had the good fortune of connecting with Gabrielle Melton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gabrielle, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Learning how to balance is so fundamental as being an entrepreneur. My mind is constantly going with new ways to improve my business. To refrain from being overwhelmed, it’s very important that I take self care days. So I take 3 days off to spend with family and to take care of personal needs. Within those 3 days, I have trained myself to not work.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am a woman with many hats but I am mostly known for being the salon owner of The Vanity Bar Salon and Suites where I bring in the best of the best and also train and motivate them to be the BEST independently. The Vanity Bar has been in business since 2014. We are a full service salon that specialize in hair care, makeup, and skincare. As a hairstylist, I have had the pleasure of sharing my talent with celebrities and many women in the Wiregrass and Atlanta, Georgia area. Growing up, I have always had a passion for all things beauty, fashion, and business. I am a granddaughter of a salon legend in my area and daughter of entrepreneurs. So business and hair came very easy to me. Was it easy to start up my salon? No I came across a lot of failures that I learned from. I’m still learning to this day. How I overcome obstacles is turning every negative into a positive. Just when you thought that I lost, just know that I gained a lesson.

Some may view me as a Boss, but I want people to view as an Inspiration! I’m just a small town girl with big city dreams trying to create generational wealth. And with God’s favor and my support system, I‘m going to forever succeed!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to dedicate this to my parents and grandparents! Without my support system and God, I will be nothing. I am dedicating this to them because they gave me the blueprint of what it takes to be successful. Faith without works is dead. I am very appreciative of them showing me the ropes of entrepreneurship and morals.
