We had the good fortune of connecting with Gabrielle Bage & Ebony Grant and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gabrielle & Ebony, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Starting your own business is one of the biggest risks one can take. There is always that possibility that consumers might not love what you do as much as you do, and this is an even bigger possibility when you have a pretty niche market as we do. However, we knew what we were getting into and decided if we were going to do this then we needed to put all of our heart into it as well (not just all of our money)! We wanted to welcome the risk with open arms because if we didn’t, we would’ve been left with a lot of “what if’s”, which is no way we wanted to live life. We believed that if we continuously worked hard and never gave up, all of our hard work would pay off whether it be six months down the road or two years down the road. It is so important for people to chase their dreams and do what truly makes them happy regardless of what society tells you is normal or financially safe/smart. In our eyes, the payback of doing what we love will always outweigh any risks or doubts that might come along the way.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We sell a large variety of rocks, minerals, gems, fossils, and hand made crystal jewelry. We have always had a love for the natural treasures our Earth gives us, and wanted more people to be able to appreciate this without having to deal with the big price mark ups we see all to often in this industry. After about a year of networking and traveling, we finally launched our website in January of 2021. We struggled trying to figure out how to boost our platform since neither of us are big social media people, but we knew that if we wanted to succeed we had to step out of our comfort zone and get serious with marketing online. This transformed our platform entirely, and we learned that it is key in being successful in today’s world. We are so grateful for all of the experiences and learning opportunities we have had through this business, and are even more thankful to those who support and uplift us daily.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We love going hiking and seeing the many waterfalls in North Georgia. There is so much beauty here that this takes up most of our free days. After a day of hiking, we would go to Sweet Breads in Demorest which is our favorite place to grab a bite to eat. We also love walking around Helen and looking at their shops and restaurants.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We would love to shoutout all of our friends and family who have been here supporting us since day one. Their endless love and support means the world to us and is what motivates us to push even harder to succeed.
