We had the good fortune of connecting with Frank Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Frank, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Wow! You know initially I just wanted to create something that stood out and broke all boundaries. I wanted to create something where not just me, but the world can let their imaginations run free and we did just that through food . The passion for food was already there plus the love for the people so I figured if I could combine those both, we could make something special and we did just that .I wanted to create opportunity and also an awesome experience for the world as well. I wanted this to serve as an inspiration for others also, to never be afraid to create, let your business be your canvas & execute with purpose.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
So Illusion Infusions is a brunch style restaurant with a twist, only because we offer a tad bit more! Aside from our specialty waffles and regular menu items we offer gourmet cookies and exotic drinks as well! I think what excites me the most about this is that we make absolutely everything from scratch! From the frosting down to each recipe , we delicately hand craft each order and that’s what separates us. I wanted to develop something genuine, something amazingly good, an unforgettable experience. The process definitely wasn’t easy but great things come from challenge. It took me a little over two years to really research this market, to test and creat these recipes I have now through trial and error. Finally we launched here in 2022 and it has been an amazing journey this far. The goal was to think completely outside of the box, to create our own lane in a sense, an unreal taste hence the illusion. For those who are starting a business, my advice to you is don’t rush, you formulate your plan and you execute with the best of your ability. Second to that, failure is normal in life, use it as fuel to create something you’re proud of , something with purpose. What we’ve built here has been nurtured and cultivated for quite some time! However I know now that this restaurant brand represents an inspiration to others, an unforgettable experience, & awesome food with love and laughter.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Now this is kind of a hard one! One of my favorite things to do in the city is literally go to the movies! It’s just always been a tradition of mine you know, it’s like you can go with your spouse , the family or your friends and have a great time! iPic theaters is definitely my pick , it’s a dine in theater with an amazing food selection, reclined seats, blankets , and so much more ! I also love to play golf so we’ll be making a stop at Skyline Park as well on top of Ponce City Market! I mean this is literally a mini carnival on a roof and may I tell you the view is amazing! To make this better, 9 mile station is up there as well, one of my favorite rooftop restaurants, definitely check them out. Let’s make an escape room the next stop! Sixty minutes trapped inside a room with friends and you all have to work together to escape! There are different storylines to play some harder than others but this experience is so much fun! I’d recommend Big Escape Rooms. I recommend spaceman buckhead for drinks, it’s a marvelous rooftop bar, draw bar is a absolute must as well, I’m all for the aesthetics. When it’s time for food , I’m definitely grabbing a burger from grind house or maybe alma cocina! There’s so many amazing things to do in the city I mean honestly just be prepared!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There’s literally so many people that I would love to shout-out ! I’ll start with Nia , Nick, Kayla, my friends, my biggest supporters! These guys always believed in the mission and never let me forget the end goal. I definitely need to shout-out my parents for never leaving my side, for encouraging my failures to ensure success. I would also like to shout-out my amazing customers for even giving this a chance , that means more than anything to me! Lastly, I’d like to shout-out Markell and jonnessa for teaching the fundamentals of operating a wonderful business.
