We had the good fortune of connecting with Frank Bauknight and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Frank, what do you want people to remember about you?
Maya Angelou once said “People will forget what you said. People will forget what you did. But people will never forget how you made them feel.” this is something I live by day to day, moment by moment. I want people to remember how I made them feel, in my music career and in life. I want to be felt through music, in person, during live shows, and when I speak. The feeling that I want people to feel is comfort, validation, and the ok to be themselves and feel the things they feel. It’s okay to be sad, or even happy. My music is raw and uncut and my biggest wish is that to translate into a vibration.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What’s that me apart from other R&B singers is that I make music for people who are not only sad and heartbroken, but with people who are also happy, chill, depressed, and even a little arrogance. I write music that inspires me, in hopes of that translating to the right person. A lot of writers, write for popularity, and to be trendy, I’d rather not. I have more passion, and purpose to my style of music. Some thing else that sets me apart is that I am a psychic medium, so there is an element of spirituality to my music and my personality. I want the world to know that not only do I make great music, I’m just a normal person living in this world like everybody else I just express differently. Some things that I am proud of is just simply where I have came from. From a boy who just loved music, wrote a song here, and there, on SoundCloud to now having fans across the world, and having performed at some of the most popular platforms in the world, like SoFar, and now have created for projects that are on all streaming platforms. My growth is something that I will forever be proud of, and continue to do, I don’t celebrate any other accolades that people may find attractive and worthy of cloud. It was not easy growing into the artist that I am today, because there are always sacrifices that need to be made in order to be a better version of yourself every day. There were times, where I sacrificed jobs, living situations, and relationships in order to pursue my music fully.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One thing about me I love to have a good time, I am very spontaneous a lot of the times. But, honestly, I don’t be doing much lol. So having an itinerary is not something that I’m going to be prepared for, but I got the hookah, and the drinks at my house. We can figure it out from there. I do enjoy a nice drink and a nice vibe, lounge environment, and some good eats so wherever that is, is where I’m going.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
All of my friends that support me and have been a great support from day one! They keep me going, along with the fans I have made along the way. So many to name! But just know I appreciate them all one by one
