We had the good fortune of connecting with Firoozeh Bowden and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Firoozeh, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I am always inspired by Mother Earth, the cosmos, and all the beautiful colors and shapes I see in space, landscapes, plants, and everything else I see in existence. I believe our creator is the ultimate artist with a very diverse range of creations!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Although most of my paintings are abstract, I don’t have a particular style. I aim to infuse my paintings with positive and healing energy so that they uplift any space in which they are displayed. When people are in the presence of my art, I want them to feel joy, peace, and love. I usually meditate before I work in order to channel the Divine healing Energy. Many times before I put down any paint on a canvas, I write down words on it such as Light, Love, Joy, Calm, Peace, etc, to infuse those feelings into the artwork.

As many artists can relate this journey has not been easy. At times in my career, I have had to supplement my income with other jobs. I feel very fortunate that at this time I am able to work on what I love full-time, creating art that will uplift the lives of many.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is to be patient and not give up. Although painting is my life purpose there were times when I thought I could not keep working. I believe my faith and connection with God gave me the strength I needed to carry on.

I want the world to know that I believe we all have a gift, something to make this a better and more beautiful world. Love, Faith, Compassion, and kindness towards not only Humanity but also other creatures and our home planet Earth will go a long way to making our world a better place. I believe I am doing my part to not only materially add beauty to this world, but also Energetically create a more loving compassionate environment.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
On the first day, I would take them to Vinny’s on Windward for some wonderful food, then I would take them to visit The Scene Art Gallery at the North Point Mall to see some of my paintings on exhibit there. On the second day, we would go to Rumi’s Kitchen at Avalon for some lunch and then visit some of the wonderful Galleries in Miami Circle like Alan Avery Gallery, and Johnson Lowe Gallery. We would go for walks in downtown Crabapple and Alpharetta. On another day we could explore Underground Atlanta. Stone Mountain is a great place for a local hike. We could also have brunch at my neighborhood Nest Cafe which has great coffee and food. I also love the Atlanta Botanical Garden where we could enjoy nature and see great inspirational art. If my visitor is here during August of 2023 I would take them to my Solo Art Exhibit at the Buckhead Library.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mom, who has always been one of my biggest supporters, Leonardo Da Vinci who is an artistic genius, and Sarah McCrum, who is my teacher and mentor in working with energy.
