We had the good fortune of connecting with Fiona Millner and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Fiona, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I always knew I wanted to have a business of my own and work for myself but I had gone back and forth between what that actually looked like for me. I have always had a love for interior design and architecture, so real estate really stuck out to me. I had thought about getting into real estate right out of High School but I decided to go to college since I had received a scholarship I couldn’t pass up. During my senior year of college I started a full time job as a leasing agent. At this job, I started to feel like I was wasting my life away working for someone else’s goals and not for my own. This thought was constantly eating away at me is the reason I decided to quit my full time job to get my real estate license. I have been an active realtor for a little less than a year now and I am loving it!
What should our readers know about your business?
I am a REALTOR® in Atlanta and surrounding areas. I take pride in making sure that each and every one of my clients feel as though they are my only client. I will always have constant and open communication with each client and take the stress of the home buying/selling process off of the buyer/seller, making the process as seamless and easy as possible. Choosing the right agent to work with is the most important first step of the home buying/selling process. It is best to work with an agent that is full-time, knowledgeable, and in this market – has the right connections to find off market deals! (Like me!). The most exciting part of this job is seeing your clients overjoyed once we cross that finish line at the closing table.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I personally love going out for dinner in the city! Some of my favorite restaurants that have amazing atmospheres include The Garden Room, The Select, and Serena Pastificio. Atlanta also has a great night life, my personal favorite is Bigsky Buckhead. If you love coffee like me, there are some amazing shops throughout the city such as Cultivate, Brash, and Chrome Yellow Trading Co. Some other favorites to visit are Ponce City Market and the Beltline!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shoutout my team at Mark Spain, especially my directors Lisa & Vick. They have been the most amazing support system helping me navigate through the real estate industry. I would also like to shoutout Parker Smith, he is a REALTOR® in ATL and he has been a great resource for me as well as continued support, love, and encouragement in this new chapter in my life.
