Meet Ferry Ijaya | Real Estate Investor & Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ferry Ijaya and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ferry, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Started with an idea that sounds exciting to me. Then explore the possibilities and did some extensive research, but not too much that would stop me from trying. Invest to get it started, and off to the race. Since I’m passionate about the business, most times it works and makes money until it doesn’t. Then I move on to the next one or the ones that still work.

What should our readers know about your business?
Real Estate Investing has many shapes and forms. There are a lot of strategies that when you come across a deal, would allow you to creatively create the best outcome from sometimes an impossible situation. When I meet someone with a real estate challenge, I’d like to help them by understanding their situation and exploring some options. And by coming up with the solution, that alone satisfy and give me a sense of fulfillment. I am where I am today not only because I hustle and am persistent, but also because I know that the people surrounding me got my back. I know where to go and ask for help and guidance. It wasn’t easy and I almost gave up because there was no good result with what I had been doing and it was very exhausting. But by coming to the meetings, hearing others’ success and inspiring stories, and encouragement from people in my circle had me going.
What I learned is that no matter how hard things are, even when you don’t see any result, success will come. It’s like the bamboo story. It might take weeks, months, maybe even years, but one day, you’ll get something as a result of what you’ve done.
I am not a self-made millionaire. My biggest supporter is my wife, Grace, who I love and cherish. She was there from the start when I was nobody and even at the lowest point of my life. She is my rock and strength.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Seattle, home of Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, and Chris Pratt has many interesting places to visit. We’ll start in downtown Seattle, where we can have an underground tour from the old days, then we’ll visit the Pike market, the first Starbucks, the wall of gum, the Space Needle, and the Amazon Sphere, then spend the rest of the day exploring the city.
The next day, we’ll visit the Japanese garden, Bruce Lee’s grave, Jimi Hendrix’s memorial, and take a great shot of the Seattle background from Kerry Park,.
Boeing is one of the biggest companies in the world and we can visit the museum of flight.
Mt Rainier is another place to visit.
A giant bowl of Pho is something you’ll want to eat and take a memorable picture with at Dong Thap.
One of the fancy restaurants I’d love to visit for a special occasion is Canlis. Need to book it first the moment you land in Seattle.
Then we’ll visit Bellevue for a day. It’s an amazing upscale town. Make sure to get the best chocolate I’ve ever known from Japan, Royce.
If you’re a Magic: The Gathering player, you have to visit the headquarter in Renton.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to thank the Renatus community and the education program that allows me to understand how to start real estate investing. With the support of many people in the group, I was able to grow and build my business. Bob Snyder, the CEO of Renatus is a humble individual that I look up to and a great example for many to follow. He has created a great culture in the community for people who’s supporting and help each other.
