We had the good fortune of connecting with Felicia Dee and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Felicia, how do you think about risk?
I have always taken risk. As I got older I was more strategic about my risk. When I started on my acting journey I decided to leave a jibe that was causing me a lot of stress. With no plan only just to move out of state! From North Carolina to Georgia with no job lined up. I decided to embark on a career that I had no clue about which seemed dangerous to others. Driving Lyft. I came to Georgia with no saving. And I had to wait 90 days on my retirement! I really had no where to go because those folks that breathed “You can stay with me, until you get on ya feet” some how Vanished! My last resort was My Godmother Vivian S. Bell. She took Me in and I remember the conversation She said, I have a room but you are gonna have to buy a bed. So it was stay in that one room or go back to North Carolina! So I stayed and Several Movies, Music Videos & Tv shows! I thank God for sustainability through it all!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am an educational comedian, shedding light on the Myth of Trapping & the Trap Culture. I highlight the lifestyle and how some of the Trap Music Artists worked their way to stardom through the trenches of Trapping! My Character started as Granma Mamie and Became Auntie Mamie after Relocating to Atlanta! I am where I am because I took a leap of faith and God Handled the rest. It was not easy, I moved to Atlanta with $450 into my Godmother Vivian Bell (rip) house sleeping on a twin bed for 6months. I started driving Lyft then getting my own place, through doing background work and networking. I was dropped by my agent and began booking more acting gigs. I got over my adversaries by praying and staying focused on my goals. This journey is about creating genuine relationships and working together. Through my experiences as TT I have learned that People with try and stunt your growth if they see you surpassing them! I want The World to Know that All I want to Do Is Change the World by Making people feel good through laughter and education as well as knowing that you can do whatever it is in life and age is not a factor! Being 50 years young did not stop me from living my dream.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Barney’s, /Another Broken Egg/ BQE/ South City Kitchen (Buckhead) for Brunch then hit the Culture Center, go on the Hip Hop Tour of Atlanta. The Trap Music Museum, The Botanical Gardens, The Aquarium, Tyler Perry Studios (tour) Lenoxx Mall, Grab a Fussy, One Night Stand from Slutty Vegan. Greenbrier Mall, Discount Mall , CRAB QUEENS or Juicy Crab. For an elegant dinner Studio 52 in Buford! Take a boat ride on Lake Lanier in the Summer! Then to the Ole’ Lady Gang. A trip up Stone Mountain walking trail! If it is in the Winter season snow tubing experience! A late night snack at Johnny’s For Chicken & Waffles, Monday night R&B vibes at Kari’s. Oh I would also take them to one or two of the Clubs KOD (King of Diamonds, Magic City, Strokers. I would have an evening of Wine tasting At Cynthia Bailey’s Spot. We would squeeze in an evening of Rooftop hopping in Buckhead!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Mother (Lavern)has been My Rock through my entire Journey. To the extent of traveling with me when I did background state to state up until she could no longer tag along. In a time of need My Father (Johnny) and cousin Torre Albritton helped me in the time of need. RIP to Vivian S.Bell because if it had not been for her I would not still be her in Atlanta. Royce Parker for Always Holding Me Down! I want to also Shout Out My Agent Sunrise Sunset Talent Agency(Melissa Yu), Adrian P-Nut (Nutragious Productions) Shelly Bell (Black Girl Ventures), Dunbar, Charmin Anderson (Author), Molly World Casting, Jason & Corwin of (Actor’s Link Up) Ernestine J Morrison (GreenLitAtL) & everyone that has assisted me with an Audition! I would also like to thank my lil sister Shawan Daniels for everything! Because being a full time actor work came to a screeching halt.
