We had the good fortune of connecting with Feevah and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Feevah, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk-taking is fundamental to both personal and professional growth. You have to be willing to step out of your comfort zone and embrace uncertainty. After unboxing my first controller last year, I ditched my social life for a few months to practice everyday until booking my first gig. That same summer I was booked nearly every weekend. My dedication to mastering this craft will persist as will the success it brings. The rewards of taking risks are evident in my journey as an open format DJ.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Being a DJ is more than just playing music for a crowd. We serve as the vibe curators at every event we undertake.I take joy in observing how the music I select resonates with people and witnessing their expressions when they experience a seamless transition. DJing feels like a natural talent to me, something I’ve excelled at from the beginning. I take pride in the connections I’ve forged on this journey and am particularly eager about organizing my own events in the future.

My progression in this career has been driven by consistent practice and sharing my work on social media platforms. If you scroll through my Instagram, you’ll witness the evolution from my humble beginnings, a testament to my growth that garners respect from others. While I find solace in my love for the work, there are undoubtedly challenges, especially in a predominantly male-dominated field where gaining respect can be an uphill battle. Consequently, I’ve learned to always maintain a high standard and be on top of my game.

Despite these obstacles, I believe that the pressure I face as a woman in this field only serves to refine my skills. My journey as a DJ has reinforced the notion that diligent practice is key to mastering any endeavor.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One thing about Atlanta is that there is always something to do. Wednesday nights at Peters Street Station are consistently lively. They host jam sessions that invite individuals to showcase their talents on stage. Additionally, the venue features an art gallery in the back, providing a space for people to engage and network. This was my first hang out spot upon moving to Atlanta.

Agenda Studios on a Sunday is always a vibe. Their R&B and Wine night perfectly combines two of my favorite indulgences. Not only does the venue boast a captivating ambiance, but it also attracts a diverse array of creative individuals to connect with, along with talented DJs to groove alongside.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I extend my gratitude to my partner and my mother for their unwavering support and dedication whether that be carrying heavy equipment from one gig to another or adding new equipment to my setup. Additionally, I want to express my appreciation to all the fellow Atlanta DJs I’ve had the pleasure of meeting, particularly the women, for their genuine and wholehearted support throughout my journey. Finally, I have to give thanks to all of my supporters for showing up to my gigs, running up my Tiktoks/Reels, and showing love to my Soundcloud mixes.
