We had the good fortune of connecting with Fatima Silva and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Fatima, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I discovered my passion for working with events since very young, when I was 12 years old was when I started having my first experiences with parties and events in general. I started working on small parties in my neighborhood, until I saw that it could be my business, so I went to improving and dedicating myself more and more to know everything about it.
Despite being very young at the time, I have always been very determined and already knew since events was my passion. Over the years I have been specializing, researching, studying and improving my services. I increased my team and the types of services that offered, always having as main purpose the quality of the service and customer satisfaction.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We are a couple who has their passion for planning and production of events and weddings.
We offer our customers the Wedding Planner Full Package + Day of Coordinator Services and also Event Planner Full Service. Our differential at Atlanta Events & More is we are your right-hand!
We take care of everything from unique ideas to the perfect execution to make your event and planning experience exciting, beautiful and unforgettable! Our biggest goal is for you to trust us so that you can focus only on enjoying this day with your family and friends.
The way during these last 12 years was not easy, many challenges were. Especially when I decided to move from Brazil to the United States, where there is a culture totally different from what I had lived throughout my life, a new language and very different customs in relation to events and weddings. But I looked at this change as a very positive challenge for my carrier, and today I can say that these challenges did me very well, where I discovered new skills and new talents.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I were to get my friends in Atlanta, it certainly has some very fun places that I would like to take them:
Some parks to know:
East Cobb Park
Hammond Park
Piedmont Park
Some fun places for a late afternoon:
Ponce City Market
Kroger Street Market
Marietta Square Market
Some restaurants we love:
Thaicoon & Sushi Bar
Texas Steakhouse
Uncle Jack’s
Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
No doubt who deserves to receive a lot of credit for the success of our company is my husband, Simon.
When I moved to Atlanta / GA and I met him, he was the first person to encourage me unconditionally so that I would continue to dedicate my career. Even without knowing anything about events, Simon was interested in learning from me and fell in love with work with events and weddings too.
Without him surely our company would not be where we are today!
