We had the good fortune of connecting with Fashion Flunky and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Fashion, how do you think about risk?
I honestly don’t think about risk. I’m black and trans I kinda don’t have room to think about the risk. It’s either you do it or you don’t. I expect society to put me in box that’s why it’s important I don’t think and just do. The role risk taking has played in my life is bravery. Ofcourse I run into negative ignorant people from time to time because of me being transgender but most think it’s brave. The way I move is with confidence. My manager steph play a big role in my confidence, however I can definitely be shy but when is comes to my career I own the room. As trans when I walk in a room full of guys I’m taking a risk, when I walk confidently out in the world, I’m taking a risk. Risk taking has gained me a lot of respect. I run into more intrigue people more then ignorant people because of my risk taking. Your either going to respect me or you not, either way I’m going to win

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What’s sets me apart from others is I have my own particular lane of music. Bounce rap. I’m born and raised in New Orleans, LA but move to Ga after hurricane katrina in 2005. Bounce music is all about sound affects, a couple words here and there but no actual bars or lyrics. That’s where I change the game. New Orleans bounce and New Orleans rap is different. I collide the two. Professionally I made it where I am because of the strong team I have behind me which includes my manager steph! Getting to this point definitely wasn’t easy. I spent so much unnecessary money, went broke and came back and did it again. It wasn’t until steph discovered me till I started making the right moves for my career. I learned a lot about timing the release of my music, focus on one song and blast it until the world knows it. I have a clothing brand called FOBAN Clothing. FOBAN= Fundaments Of Being A Nobody “To truly be a king, you must first under the “FOBAN” fundamentals of being a nobody!

I want the world to know to be on the look out for the New Wave Of Bounce and I have a Hot single called DAT BEAT and it’s available on all music platforms prod: by chyldz play

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Best place to visit is Heart Of The City ATL. You can literally do anything inside this club/venue. It’s right in the heart of Atl 542 courtland st. The scenery is beautiful, hookah, drinks, food, great music, artist showcases you name it, it’s at heart of the city.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I give all credit to my manager Stephanie! When steph discovered me at a showcase I was making moves just not the right ones. She reached out, got my paperwork done for my music, got me in the studio and put me to work. She half the reason I made the switch over to Fashion Flunky from King. Steph treat & talks to me like I’m family but get on me if I slack musically. She like a mom, manger and my therapist
