Meet Farris Jackson | CEO/President | SplashGang Music Group & CMP Marketing Retired Army Vet | AI Music Pioneer | Creative Executive

We had the good fortune of connecting with Farris Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Farris, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process wasn’t built in a boardroom — it was forged in the struggle. I started my business because I got tired of watching gatekeepers block real talent and real stories from being heard. I didn’t just want a seat at the table — I wanted to build the whole building, brick by brick, from Memphis to global.
Coming from the military, structure and precision were already in me. So I combined that discipline with street-smarts, faith, and creativity. I knew the only way to protect my vision, my legacy, and my people… was ownership. Ain’t no shortcuts. I started SplashGang to edify minds through music — to turn pain into power and hustle into empire.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Running SplashGang Music Group and CMP wasn’t just business—it was personal. I built this empire brick by brick, starting from the outskirts of Memphis in a double wide trailer. What sets us apart is we’re cinematic, military-precise, and street-certified. We’re not just pushing music—we edify minds through movement, story, and sound.
Was it easy? Hell nah. I had to go from soldier to CEO, from food trucks in Vegas to record studios in Memphis. I faced betrayal, sacrifice, and even walked away from deals with giants because they didn’t respect the vision. But I stood ten toes down. What got me through? Grit, God, and a daughter who gave me purpose when the game got dark.
Every lesson I learned was a blueprint. I learned structure from the Army, hustle from Memphis, and faith from surviving it all. I’ve been broke, I’ve been booked, I’ve been blessed—but I never stopped building.
What do I want the world to know? This ain’t just a label—it’s a legacy. SplashGang is a mindset. CMP is a machine. I’m not here for trends—I’m here to take the independent game global, and show every underdog how to boss up with purpose.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting Memphis and I had a week to show them what the city’s really about, we’d start at the Peabody Hotel. That’s my personal stomping ground—specifically the Lobby Bar for a classic Memphis cocktail and live vibes, then up to the rooftop for panoramic views, duck walks, and some grown-folk energy. After that, we’re hitting Beale Street to soak in the culture, from blues clubs to street performers—it’s like a living mixtape.
For food, we’d slide through Gus’s Fried Chicken, Chef Tam’s Underground Café, and Flight for an upscale twist. Sunday brunch? Beauty Shop in Cooper-Young—it’s legendary. Then a visit to the Stax Museum and South Main Arts District to ground it all in Memphis soul. And if it’s the right season, Rooftop Thursday Parties at the Peabody is the ultimate plug—music, views, and the energy Memphis is known for.
This city is a vibe—and when you move through it with Memphis love and boss energy, the city gives it right back.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, I want to give all glory to God for keeping me grounded through the highs and lows. Shoutout to Clique Vodka — my official sponsor and a brand that believed in my vision from jump.
Major love to my wife Krystal for holding me down and standing beside me through this entire journey. To my daughter Aliegha, who gave me new purpose. And to my late stepson Sincere — your strength fuels my grind daily.
Also want to salute my mentors, like Jack Ashford and Pretty Tony, the Memphis legends who shaped my foundation, and all the creatives and soldiers behind SplashGang Music Group, CMP, and everything we’re building. We’re just getting started.
This ain’t just business — it’s legacy.
