We had the good fortune of connecting with Farrah ; Shae Bowman; Mcleish and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Farrah ; Shae, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
As chiropractic students from different backgrounds, we came together with a shared vision to serve others through their healing journeys, while continuing our own. The thought process behind starting our wellness business was rooted in the idea of showing up and being hands-on within the community—an extension of the practice we plan to open together. We knew that creating a business would allow us to help people in real time and establish a deeper connection with those seeking relief from discomfort.

The purpose behind starting this business goes beyond just serving—it’s about offering a space for people to relax and reduce the tension that often builds up from daily life. In today’s world, many of us get so caught up in work and supporting others that we forget to care for ourselves, leading to a decrease in regular self-care routines. We noticed this trend and wanted to create an experience that brought wellness directly to people’s doorsteps.

Our business offers two primary services: lymphatic drainage sessions and functional stretch therapy. Lymphatic sessions are designed to boost energy, improve immune function, and support proper circulation through the nervous system. Functional stretch therapy, on the other hand, focuses on enhancing performance by increasing range of motion. We begin with a muscle test to assess which muscles aren’t functioning properly and, based on this assessment, we develop personalized plans to target specific areas. Our goal is to help people live with less pain and tension, which ultimately improves their concentration, work productivity, and mood.

We started by simply showing up—at beltlines, pop-ups, anywhere we could offer our services to those in need. Each step of the way, we’ve grown our business and expanded our reach, starting with a humble link tree and now building a full website. The journey has been one of continuous growth, but at the core, it’s always been about showing up and helping people prioritize their well-being.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Our journey to where we are today with Xhale Wellness has been deeply rooted in a commitment to personal growth, integrity, and a relentless dedication to our community’s well-being. The road hasn’t been easy, but it’s been incredibly rewarding. Every challenge has been an opportunity to deepen our understanding of what it means to truly serve others. We’ve overcome obstacles by constantly reminding ourselves that the greatest risk we can take is betting on ourselves. Through consistent self-investment—whether in practices like qigong, sunbathing, movement, or even the simple joy of laughter—we keep ourselves grounded and prepared to show up fully for those who seek our services.

What sets Xhale Wellness apart is our focus on bringing wellness directly to our clients, whether that’s in the comfort of their own home or a space within nature. We understand that wellness isn’t a one-time luxury event; it’s a daily practice. And if someone’s home doesn’t feel like a sanctuary, we create that safe space for healing wherever it’s needed. Our approach is intuitive and personalized. We don’t just follow a script or perform robotic treatments; we listen deeply to the body and the needs of each client. This allows us to meet people where they are, and provide care that resonates not just physically, but emotionally and energetically.

Our brand is built on the belief that we can only guide others as far as we’ve traveled ourselves. We engage in daily practices that bring us closer to our own truth, purpose, and alignment. This commitment to self-care enables us to show up authentically for our clients. The connections we build with those we serve feel as though we’ve known them long before meeting them. It’s this depth of connection that defines our work.

The world should know that Xhale Wellness is more than just a brand—it’s a movement. We are dedicated to bringing self-care and wellness to everyone, making it accessible, and emphasizing its importance as a daily practice. We also prioritize education, equipping our clients with the tools and knowledge they need to continue their self-care journeys even when we’re not around. Our goal is to empower, educate, and inspire.

Most importantly, Xhale Wellness isn’t about us—it’s about the collective. Every person we touch is part of a greater domino effect, spreading love, growth, healing, and expansion to those they encounter. Our story is one of connection, service, and the power of community-driven wellness.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend is in town, here’s how we’d plan the week. We’d kick things off on Monday with a brunch at Thumbs Up, where they have the best catfish and grits—southern-style, deep-fried, and just 10 out of 10, highly recommend. Afterward, we’d hit the Beltline to take in some sights and explore the city at a relaxed pace. Then, we’d chill at a coffee shop, catch up on work, or just vibe and have some personal time.

On Tuesday, we’d take advantage of the $6 movie day at the theater and watch something fun. Wednesday would be all about letting loose at Andretti’s, where we’d go go-karting and tap into our inner kids for some excitement.

Thursday night, we’d unwind with a classic R&B and poetry night, soaking in the smooth vibes and good laughs to end the day on a high note. By Friday, it’s food adventure time—exploring different spots around the city. And if it’s the first of the month, we’d check out the High Frequency Museum for First Fridays, where we’d catch some art and support the local community.

Since my friend loves running, Saturday morning would start with an early run with Run Atlanta, followed by a hike at Roswell Mills or Bamboo Forest to get a breath of fresh air, disconnect from our phones, and just be present with nature. We’d spend the afternoon at the park, playing sports like soccer or volleyball, or just biking around to relax.

On Sunday, we’d wrap up the week at Rum Punch, a Caribbean spot where we’d enjoy great food, lively vibes, and a diverse mix of DJs showcasing different cultural influences that make the city so vibrant.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We want to give a heartfelt shoutout to Evelyn at Ballpark Reserve, Nick and Tati at Be One Collective, and Michelle Fleming over at Evolution Training. Each of you has truly stepped into your calling, inspiring not only yourselves but countless others with the vulnerability and humility you carry. The space you’ve created for self-reflection and healing has been instrumental, not just for your own journeys but for those around you. We are deeply grateful for the opportunities you’ve allowed us to explore our artistry and connect with more people in our communities. Thank you for being a beacon of inspiration and for holding such sacred spaces for growth and connection!
