Meet Fanicia Howard | Juicer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Fanicia Howard and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Fanicia, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
The idea for JuicyQueen came about in January of 2023 after coming off a six month battle of depression and needing to rediscover my purpose and hit the reset button on my life. I had already, at that point, been juicing for myself consistently since the Pandemic three years prior, and have been a lover of juice overall since childhood. I often noticed how fresh pressed fruits and vegetables made my body respond in contrast to the sugary beverages I would consume on a daily/weekly basis from the grocery store, and I was becoming notorious for sharing and making juice recipes for my friends and some colleagues while simultaneously educating them on nutritional facts about the healing properties of the fruits and vegetables in the drinks. Although I’m not a healthcare physician, or dietitian by formal trade, I gained the trust from those who were invested in what I knew about juicing and who could attest to the results they saw after consistently drinking my juice blends, so I quickly became named the “JuicyQueen” by my peers. It stuck so I decided to make that the name of my business.

What should our readers know about your business?
Like I imagine most business owners feel about their ventures, JuicyQueen is my baby. I got to where I’m at today with a great deal of trial and error with taste testing samples, formulating the quantities of how much of each fruit and vegetable goes into each drink, consistently learning about the chemistry of which fruits and vegetables pair well together, and the marketing of my product. It hasn’t been an easy journey at all, especially as someone who never imagined herself to be business-saavy, but I’m passionate about people being exposed to healthy beverage options and knowing one hundred percent of what they’re putting in their body and how it helps keep their bodies functioning properly. To see people go from swearing off ever drinking fresh pressed juice to now seeing them chug an 8oz of a fruit and vegetable blend from me is a great accomplishment in itself. I pride myself on that.
Some other factors that make JuicyQueen unique include the current use of all glass mason jars, (in sizes 8 ounces, 16 ounces and 32ounces) no additives in any of the juice blends, and the creative names of every drink on the menu. JuicyQueen’s Instagram page also features tips on composting, recycling, and random facts in regard to health and wellness that are often posted in the stories.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a certified foodie but I like to prioritize both taste and health equally when I consider dining out somewhere. I’m also pescatarian, so I’d ideally find a spot that had a menu with variety to accommodate my diet. If my best friend were in town, my latest brunch spot I’d recommend to try would be First Watch. They’re menu definitely has variety, the food is amazing and the portion sizes are very generous. Another spot I like going to is the Cuban bistro,Mojitos- the Norcross location.
For a more scenic activity we’d go walk the Beltline and grab some Jeni’s ice cream in Krog Street Market. Another good place to walk and get an idyllic scene is the five mile trail around Stone Mountain. A great way I’d like to wrap up the week is getting a massage or making a whole spa day at Jeju.
