Meet Faith J Harris: Life Coach & Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Faith J Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Faith J, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I’ve always had the desire to be in business for myself at a young age. As I got older I wanted to show my children how not to be afraid to go after their dreams while facing adversity in life. Another thing is that I’ve been in the art scene and creating since kindergarten. It was always my first way of expressing myself and allowing myself to dream beyond reality. I want to teach my children that its other ways to grow wealth. Its nothing wrong with working in corporate America, but I want to teach them that is not the only option you have to take.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

My art is always authentic to who I am and what I view. I would reference everything I do as a Documentary. I love to capture the real aspects of life. Although I grew up sketching a lot of my favorite cartoons, many still to this day I love to capture life in its essence. I’m a portraiture
& lifestyle photographer. I’ve done some events lately because I love to capture the realness and truth of the moments in between shots.

In being an entrepreneur challenges never end, we just become better at strategizing ways to overcome them in the future. For me having the strength to know the places God has called me to is enough to keep going. I have to pour into myself daily and affirm myself. One lesson I’ve learned is to put as much time into my brand as I do anything else in life. Fear and procrastination Can slow us down and cause us to not put our efforts in fully. Reprioritizing my life and what I’m called to has helped me a lot. I would want people to know that my brand is authentic, honest, and for the everyday person who is looking for a creative turn in life, whether they’re looking for me to coach them in healing or a photo session.

I’m a woman who has been through the storm and by grace, I have made it out on the other end. I want to extend that same love to someone else through my brand.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Monday- Thursday we would spend our time pampering ourselves at some cool spas in ATL. Hopefully, it’s summer so we would be able to soak up some sun by the pool. I’m a foodie so On Friday I would take them to rays in the city because that has become one of my favorite spots to eat. I love the fact you can dress up, but still be in the heart of downtown.

One place I would like to go is to tour Tyler Perry Studios. That’s one place that is significate to Atlanta’s growth, especially in media. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Jesus first and foremost without the guidance of the Holy Spirit I wouldn’t have the courage to believe in myself as much as I do. Secondly, my Sisters were bought into my life at the time I needed them the most. These are the women that helped me through the moments of healing. They taught me how to have fun, to love, and to still live fully in who God called me to be. Being around amazing women who have helped me to pursue the things God has spoken into my heart. I thank God for every one of them. They showed me true sisterhood, love, and how to live full-on for christ in a world that wants to cancel your identity as a woman and an individual.
