We had the good fortune of connecting with Faith Igunbor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Faith, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I am a proud African lady; I love everything about been a Nigerian woman. The process behind starting my business was the desire to share and provide authentic African goods, such as food items, natural herbs, clothes, fabrics, jewelries and more to the people. Africa’s rich history and culture are so diverse that it varies not only from one country to another but also within regions and countries. I wanted to share my culture with the world.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Efe African Market is an African store that carries authentic African Product from different part of Africa. We specialize in African groceries, men, women, children clothing, natural herbs, fabrics, jewelries, skin and hair products. I am a big believer of cooking home meals and taking natural herbs to keep your body health as God intended for us to leave on our body. MY store is one stop shop. I also love sharing recipes for anyone that wants to cook an African meal.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love leaving in Georgia, I have taken out of state families and friends to Stone Mountain Park, Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site, White Water’s and Six Flag, Centennial Olympic Park, Atlanta BeltLine and picnic in Piedmont Park, Zoo Atlanta, Mercedes-Benz Stadium and African Restaurants.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
God, my savior and redeemer: without is Mercy and Goodness I will not be here, my husband who has been my greatest support and cheerleader in life. My mother who encouraged me daily and whom I got my entrepreneurship and hardworking determination from. My children, siblings and other family members who have been very supportive of me and my business. “It takes a village”. God has blessed me with an amazing village that I can count on. I am also very thankful and grateful for all my amazing customers, because without them there will not be an ongoing Efe African Market.
