We had the good fortune of connecting with Ezzo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ezzo, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I am from Brazil. Born but raised in Canada. I came here when I was about three years old and music has been in my blood since I was a baby. My mom was in a church choir and my dad also saying. Out of the youngest of five siblings I looked up every single one of them who are also music inclined and served in the church.
I always felt music pulling towards me. I was first self-taught on the drums when I was eight years old and became part of the worship team at 12. I then went on to receive classical piano lessons before the age of 15 and then became the worship leader of the church’s music ministry and that’s when I began singing.
throughout this whole time I was dabbling on FL studio. Just for fun, but then I quickly grew an addiction to it and found myself coming back every day. It’s now been over 11 years.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I think what makes me different is definitely my upbringing. Everyone knows that in this industry you can’t expect to make it without putting in the years of work. I’m excited every time I sit in front of the computer and that keyboard to make another track. Definitely came with hardships. Lots of highs and lows but the most important is that the passion for creating music is still alive and going strong.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Honestly I don’t go out much. I’m kind of a homebody and you catch me in my studio most of the time.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Definitely Phaino deserves a shout out. He’s always been an encouragement in my life.
