We had the good fortune of connecting with Evelyn Jessica Rich and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Evelyn Jessica, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Great question! I’ve always had an artistic heart so my evolution as a creative was bound to happen at some point. As an author, I find it AMAZING that I can pour my creative soul into a written work for others to enjoy. And I honor the possibility that someone is out there reading my sh*t at this very moment. I live for it!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I do fancy myself an erotic storyteller and I imagine that most adults love a good story with steamy sex. Luckily, there’s a literary genre for that! And I’m
excited to be one of its many
representatives.

Professionally, I “woke up” one
day and decided it was time to
be a writer. Life has an expiration
date and unfortunately no one
gets out alive. So this is
something I had to pursue.

The road to authorpreneurship has been challenging to say the least. Understanding the nuances of writing, editing and self publishing has been learning a curve. But I have no regrets!

The best advice that I can give to an aspiring independent author is INVEST IN A GOOD EDITOR and preferably one that hears and understands your voice. I’m blessed to have a great one in my corner.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This is such a LOADED question! There is so much to do in Atlanta! People (including me) are literally amazed by just the hustle and bustle airport…lol.

My FAVORITE hangout spot is Little 5 Points. Euclid Avenue is such an eclectic haven. I can’t even articulate the vibe! Whenever I’m there, I usually enjoy eating at Thai 5 Sushi & Bar.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m definitely dedicating this shoutout to my debut novel entitled Dirty Stilettos!
