We had the good fortune of connecting with Ethan Senger and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ethan, What do you attribute most of your success too?
As much as you hear it, work ethic and consistency are huge factors for success. Being a live musician and an artist, I spend a lot of time perfecting what I do. Whether that be practicing performance techniques, breaking down a song I’m writing, or just posting a video on social media to provide content to the people who support me, effort shows. I’ve noticed that if the music I create is organic and allows me to stay true to myself, people are more likely to gravitate toward it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My music is a deeper expression of myself. Lyrically, it will dive into aspects of my life that I may not feel comfortable sharing with people nor deem conversation worthy. I’m portraying my issues and inner struggles in a melodic format, and seeing people grab on to that or connect with it in any sort of way is a fascinating thing, but it’s definitely not an easy thing either. As a songwriter, I want to write expressively about the things I experience and observe in a way that is unique, enjoyable, and connects me to my listeners. But at the same time, self doubt in that process can be a big obstacle to overcome. There’s a lot of outside factors that must be considered to have a consistent success when writing songs. Taking into account questions like Is this listenable? Does it have appealing qualities that will keep people coming back? Is it timeless and relatable? Or even just scrutinizing the minute details of my performance on a recorded track.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
For starters, I would definitely take them to get Las Palmas on Wade Green Road! It is my favorite restaurant of all time. I’ve gone there with my grandparents since I was an infant and have always loved it. Another cool hang out spot is The Local Bar and Grille in Cartersville, GA. It’s the first place I ever played a paying gig. It’s a fun local bar, filled with people of all ages who are there to forget about the stress of life while listening to music, hanging out, and meeting new people. I would also definitely have to take them to the lake, which is a staple summer activity in north Georgia that’s always a good time.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family deserves a lot of credit for what I’ve accomplished. They’ve always encouraged me and helped me find ways to better myself as a musician/artist. It has given me a lot of confidence in myself to have support from the people who raised me. Another big support system would be my fellow musician friends. We always lift each other up and inspire each other to keep going, even when things can seem insurmountable.
