We had the good fortune of connecting with ESTIMATED PRINCIPLES and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi ESTIMATED, what is the most important factor behind your success?
For us, the most important thing has been to be true to ourselves and carve our own path. Many times we’ve been told how to do things by bad actors or that doing things a certain way, against how we would normally, would lead us to better results. Those people were wrong every time. When it comes to the creative side especially, doing things our way, reguardless of what maybe popular, had given us everything we have achieved so far.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The thing we are most proud of creatively is our forthcoming debut album, “patina”. We’ve been writing and working on this project for well over two years and it’s the culmination of a lot of lived experiences as well creative progression. We show a lot of what inspires us and what we’re made of on these eight tracks, and we are all very proud to finally be putting it out into the world. Especially as an independent band with no label backing or funding.

It was not easy, not by a long shot. It took all of us putting everything we had into writing, practicing, and recording these songs, but we were all very driven to overcome these challenges. To use them as a learning experience for future projects and see where the mistakes can take us and show us about ourselves.

I want the world to take away from this album, and our group as a whole, that whatever it is you want to do and believe in, do it. It does not matter what other people think as long as you are being true to yourself. But most importantly, have fun while doing it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We hail from Augusta, GA. So we would probably go downtown, walk around Broad st. and visit some classic local bars. Play some pool, go to a local music show. Just generally chill.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We would give a shoutout to our families that’ve helped us along this journey, as well as anyone who has interfaced with our music, came to a show, or purchased merchandise. Every little thing helps, and we appreciate it all.
