We had the good fortune of connecting with Esther Sinclair and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Esther, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Your purpose is NOT an Option it is your Obligation. This key thought has inspired me to be purpose driven from as early as age 12 and to steward whatever platform I have to push people into their purpose. However, my father’s funeral in 2016, was a defining factor in my life which catapulted me to be more intentional about making a destiny defining decisions to get my first book, Cultivating Purpose, published after procrastinating about writing it for about 7 years. I embraced and ran with the idea that to be Purpose Conscious is to be Time Conscious. I was determined to die empty because my father died with his seed, his untapped potential, lying uncultivated in him. Even though he was the brightest in his class yet he died with many books and ideas still etched on pieces of paper. I decided that would not be my story. Despite having a large family of 5 children, being a Pastors wife with responsibilities for two churches, and an Accountant by Profession, by God’s grace, I was able to publish 5 books, start an online mentorship community called Destiny Cultivators, teach Masterclasses and host other speaking engagements on concepts from my book and write articles for magazines and other media platforms.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I believe that all truth is parallel, therefore what is true in the physical is also true in the spiritual. I see my writing as a work of art bringing flawed perspectives into alignment helping individuals to see patterns where others see randomness and connecting at a deeper level to have more clarity and a big picture perspective. I am a prolific and passionate writer, teacher and reader who writes from a wholistic perspective using scientific evidence and other models of truth like Mother Nature, Animals to teach Biblical Principles with the goal of empowering persons to come into their true identity and purpose. I am passionate about helping people connect the dots to their destiny by teaching truth in a world where truth is slowly becoming as extinct as the dinosaur.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting my country Jamaica, for a week they would have to visit our beautiful beaches and people on the North and South Coast. Dunns River Falls is a must to have a breathtaking experience of nature at its best with the rich fauna and flora. Hiking to Blue Mountain would be another experience that would be etched in your memory for a lifetime as you capture the view of Jamaica’s beautiful landscape from the highest point and the Emancipation Park would be our next stop to view the oasis in the center of the city. Her vacation would not be complete without participating in the food and culture of our people, so we would visit some of our best restaurants in Kingston and Port Royal and stop by the Bob Marley Museum also for a combination of cultural expression. Our entertainment is world class so we would include the Little Theatre to experience Dance, theartre and the other artistic displays. We would also want to get our praise on as we experience the dynamic worship in our churches since Jamaica is known to have the most churches per square mile in the world.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to send a special shout out to Marsha Norman who was my first mentor to acknowledge the potential in me and equip me for my journey ahead. My family, immediate and extended, has also been my bedrock of support and encouragement, including my church family, friends and coworkers. Special Shout Out also to the Destiny Cultivators Community and my other older and wise mentors in the faith. Shoutout to my hardworking and resilient Mom, Rebecca Hayle, who has been the bedrock of our family.
