We had the good fortune of connecting with Erika Ahumada-barraza and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Erika, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
For me the first principle is Integrity
I think this is the foundation of a life built on honesty and strong moral principles.
It means doing the right thing, even when no one is watching, and staying true to your values, regardless of the circumstances.
For me, integrity is about consistently aligning actions with beliefs, ensuring that trust and respect are earned and maintained.
The second one is Loyalty.
Loyalty is the cornerstone of trust and commitment. It means standing by others through thick and thin, being reliable and steadfast in your support. For me, loyalty embodies the value of being true to those you care about, and to the principles you hold dear, even when it’s challenging.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

I am a Former Psychologist, I left mi country 30 years ago and been in US for the past 15 years. I’ve tried different business including Fitness industry until 4 years ago that i switched careers and started a business with a Financial Service.
I am a dedicated single mom and an entrepreneur with a passion for making a difference. I work in the financial industry, where I lead and recruit talented individuals, helping them unlock their potential. Beyond that, I’m committed to education and empowerment, teaching people the skills they need to succeed in their financial journeys and beyond.
What sets you apart from others?
I think what sets me apart is my unique combination of resilience, adaptability, and a deep passion for helping others.
As a single mom and entrepreneur, I’ve learned to balance multiple roles while staying committed to my goals. I bring a personal touch to my work in the financial industry, leading with empathy and understanding the diverse needs of the people I work with.
What are you most proud of or excited about?
I’m most proud of the impact I’ve had on the lives of those I’ve mentored and recruited. Seeing others grow and succeed because of the guidance and opportunities I’ve provided is incredibly rewarding. I’m also excited about the continuous evolution of my business and the new challenges and opportunities that come with it.
My journey to where I am today was far from easy. It involved long hours, sacrifices, and navigating the uncertainties of being both a single parent and a business owner. The key to overcoming these challenges was staying focused on my “why”—my son. His well-being and future kept me motivated through the toughest times.
How did you overcome the challenges
I overcame challenges by being resourceful and surrounding myself with a strong support network. I embraced every setback as a learning opportunity, always looking for ways to improve and adapt. Perseverance and a positive mindset were crucial in turning obstacles into stepping stones.
What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?**
I want the world to know that my journey is driven by passion, purpose, and a deep commitment to making a positive impact. My brand is a reflection of my values—integrity, empathy, and the belief that with the right support, anyone can achieve greatness. My story is one of perseverance, and I hope it inspires others to pursue their dreams, no matter the obstacles they face.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, to show the wonderful Atlanta, I think I’d blend iconic sights, local gems, and diverse culinary experiences we have here
For example a breakfast in the Atlanta Breakfast Club, they have some classic Southern comfort food
The itinerary would include the Georgia Aquarium and World of Coca-Cola
two must-see attractions in downtown .
I also Would take him/her to a Cultural Day in Midtown
Visiting Piedmont Park then explore the Atlanta Botanical Garden
Then we’ll Have dinner at Nikolai’s Roof, known for its fine dining and panoramic views of the city.
I’ll End the day with drinks at Hotel Clermont’s rooftop bar.
Of course it’s imperative to go to the BeltLine
Maybe rent bikes and spend the day exploring the Atlanta BeltLine, stopping by Ponce City Market to shop and enjoy the food hall.
I also will take my friend to a Trip to Stone Mountain and Hike to the top for incredible views
Then we can have a day shopping in Buckhead, visiting Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza.
Also, stop by The Shops Buckhead Atlanta for some luxury shopping.
In Atl we have Exciting People, Places, and Things to do. I love our city because its rich culture, history, and vibrant social scene.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My son is the heartbeat of my journey, the driving force behind every decision I make. As a single mom and entrepreneur, the challenges I face are numerous, but my son gives me the strength to push through them all. He’s my inspiration because I see in him the future I’m building—a life of stability, happiness, and endless possibilities.
He is my “why” because everything I do, I do with his well-being and future in mind. His presence reminds me daily of the importance of perseverance, hard work, and dedication. He keeps me grounded, ensuring that I never lose sight of what truly matters.
At the same time, my son is my biggest critic in the best way possible. His honesty keeps me humble and focused. He sees the world with clarity, untainted by the complexities of adulthood, and his perspective pushes me to be the best version of myself. I strived always to be a role model he can be proud of.
In every success and every setback, I see his face, and that keeps me going. He’s not just a part of my life—he’s the reason I’m living it with purpose and passion.
