Meet Eric Williams | Content Creator & Education Specialist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Eric Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Eric, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk taking is what determines your success to some degree. I haven’t reached nearly half of where I want to be in my professional career, however being able to take risks with certain situations allows you to be able to prepare for when your time comes to take off and achieve all that you’ve been wanting to. That time of preparation will propel you into all of your dream’s successes. In reality, I’ve thought that the one thing that I don’t want to do in my life is get to the end of my journey here on Earth and realize that I haven’t achieved a certain goal or dream. That’s what keeps me going in my life and taking risks on myself; making sure that I don’t leave this earthly realm with regrets whether that’s in my personal life with platonic/romantic relationships or in my professional career. I encourage everyone out there to create a list of dreams (everything that you’ve ever wanted to do) and work to achieve them. Live a life of pleasure and achievement.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m currently a content creator on Instagram, Tik Tok and YouTube where I create content related to music, makeup and gardening. I love the versatility that I have with my content. I can be found on all social media channels at @hausofebon. I am an Education Specialist at Easton Banks Learning & Life Center, Inc. where I oversee the Project G.R.A.P.E. (Growing Readily Available Produce Everywhere) program, where we go throughout DeKalb County, GA teaching social-emotional learning and leadership to youth through gardening in order to reduce the negative effects of hunger and creating a sustainable life. I’m really excited because I really got into makeup right before the pandemic in 2019 and over the past three years I’ve been growing my social media following and skills with makeup artistry. I’ve come to the point where I am making an income from my content with my first gig on the Supergreat app where I review beauty brands and products. I’ve also started my first podcast called The What Now? Podcast where I discuss topics that straddle the intersectionality of being queer and black. It’s taken me a moment for me to get here, however, I’m glad that I’ve had my journey to practice my craft and learn what to accept. I’ve learned that it’s necessary for you to understand your worth in whatever career field you’re in. Know what skillset you have and how sickening you are in bringing in profit to the companies and brands that you’re trying to work with. If you want a little laughter while you’re scrolling or you want to learn how to grow your own food? Then, follow me everywhere at @hausofebon and @twnpodcast.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would start off in East Atlanta located in StoneCrest, GA at the Double Scoop Ice Cream shop which is black-owned and have great ice cream. Next, we’d go to Decatur, GA and eat at Fellini’s Pizza where they have tasty pizza! Once we leave there we can go to Atlanta and walk down the belt line and people watch and feel the breeze on a nice Saturday afternoon.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout goes to my mother, Dr. Bessie Stewart-Banks who is one of my biggest supporters no matter what my goals are at the moment. She can be found on instagram at @bessiesbanks along with her businesses @cothpublising and @ebllcinc.
