We had the good fortune of connecting with Eric Layton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eric, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?

After being furloughed in March of 2020 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. I realized one random night around 1:00am I had spent the past 14 years in a career (that I love I must say); however, spent these year’s making other people happy and rich, all the while in an instant my life had changed with having to figure everything out on my own, though it could have been worst. I figured if I had to struggle and/or be without in anyway moving forward that it would be on my own terms; so, I developed “Haus of Pulchritude” my own branding company that includes the entertainment aspect of my life (Acting/Modeling/Music); as well as, my home fragrance collection, my first written memoir and my upcoming underwear line.

These are all things I love and are passionate about in conjunction with my career that I had suppressed it for many years due to the demanding work schedule and traveling it required.

The process was fairly simple in the beginning; however, I hit some roadblocks and had to brand myself, though eventually I sold out my home fragrance collection after only a month of promoting.

What should our readers know about your business?

I wake up each day loving Haus of Pulchritude more and more; as what we stand for is to CREATE – CELEBRATE – CAPTIVATE. What that means is we as creatives are able to celebrate the fruits of our labor to then captivate each and every person with our products that we are providing to the world.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

A.T.L.A.N.T.A is the most awesome place in the USA. We here in the south are just the most loving, energetic, down to earth people you’ll ever meet. I love to spend time in the Midtown area where I am also a resident of.

A perfect day for me would be to wake up, hit the gym (gotta get my cardio in), the grab some brunch at Henry’s Midtown or the Lawrence with the fellas and/or whoever my little boo is at the time (lol); hit up Ansley Area and go to Midtown Moon or Felix’s. I love the 10th Piedmont area as well, as I enjoy Blakes On The Park, G’s Midtown and TEN. I love doing Hookah so SIVA’s on Juniper is defiantly one of my favorite spots to attend.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

I have a group of close friends who support me entirely in all of my endeavors rather it’s sound advice, simply listening and/or assisting monetary wise they are truly a big part of my success.

I’m so grateful; however, I am a one man show with making decisions and being the face of my company it’s great to have the support of my close friends in being sure I’m not entirely alone in all processes, so i have to give credit and recognition to my loved ones.
