We had the good fortune of connecting with Eric Jefferson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Eric, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
Anyone that knows me has heard me say a million times that “there are no problems, only solutions.” Life is full of uncertainty. There will always be a distraction, obstacle, diversion, or detour to come in between you and your goals. The trick is to never dwell on what happened. It happened. Now how do you move on? What’s next? How do you fix it? The answer to these difficult life questions are the fuel that drives success! Everyone has challenges. Not everyone is willing to look in the mirror and face those challenges head on!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started cutting hair in 2010, after walking away from a corporate career in property management, I had never cut hair before but I was completely over working for anyone else! I learned from scratch and dedicated myself to being the best barber I could be, something I still work on to this day. After about 6 years of working in a few barbershops and salons, me and my business partner/best friend Danielle decided to open our own salon suite and named ourselves Beauty and A Beast Hair Studio! BBHS opened in Sandy Springs in 2016 and has serviced clients from all over the world! BBHS has hosted several classes, including educating at the largest natural hair show in the country, the World Natural Hair Show. We’ve been featured in several publications locally, hosted product launches in Jamaica for the Taliah Waajid brand, launched our own hair and skin product line, as well as many other accomplishments. All of those things are great, but not one of those things could have been accomplished without hard work and proper planning. The thing that separates success from failure is that success requires you to keep going after you fail. There are no right or wrong answers,. You CAN do anything, So the question is never “can you do it?” The question should always be “HOW are you going to do it?!” With that in mind, Beauty and A Beast will continue to chase our dreams and pursue our goals with the knowledge that everything we do will be succesful. Not because we can’t fail, but because we won’t stop until we succeed!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well first and foremost we have to stop by Beauty and A Beast Hair Studio to make sure their hair is on point! I love being located in Sandy Springs! The area around the shop is full of culture and cuisine from all over the world! We can vsit Yuka for amazing sushi, or Loving Hut for vegan options. With Perimeter Mall and Buckhead both being only minutes away, there are tons of shopping options in the area as well, Before the day is done, we have to stop by Chef Rob’s Carribean Cafe for a tasty beverage! Then we can walk the city center and enjoy the fountains! That’s a full day, and we’ve still barely scratched the surface of what this city has to offer.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to personally thank my Business Partner, Master Cosmetologist Danielle Darden, Co owner of Beauty and A Beast Hair Studio, LLC. Danielle and I started BBHS in 2016, as two best friends. Since then, We have grown from a salon suite to our own store front location on Roswell Rd in Sandy Springs, GA. We pride ourselves as the best of both worlds, providing both barbering and styling services to cover all of your natural hair care needs. We have also developed our own line of skin and hair products and are exciting about our new candles and jewelry line that will be launching this fall! Having a like-minded partner like Danielle has been a blessing! We could have been successful individually because we are both very driven, but having a teammate with the same desire to be great has been game changing! Together, we can and will accomplish any goal we pursue! I can’t thank her enough for being a great friend and business partner!
