We had the good fortune of connecting with Entrepreneurs and Business Owners EBO and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Entrepreneurs and Business Owners, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
We have all at some point thought of giving up, but knowing that we can be the ones to make a difference for our families and how we can impact the lives of others, keeps us pushing forward. Giving up is not an option for several reasons: timing, social trends, research, business analysis, individual maturity, and trusting the process. Above all, knowing that if we give up we’ll never know what the other side holds for us, success, accomplishments, growth, and elevation. Having the support of like minded people provides the motivation to keep moving forward. We are a spiritual organization who believe that what God has placed in us will be manifested.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
EBO originated in September of 2018. The idea behind the organization was to bring liked minded Entrepreneurs together to be a support system, provide resources, to be a source of encouragement, and to build financial empowerment. What sets us apart from other organizations is the many facets of what we have created. We have incorporated Accountability Partners, a Toastmasters model, Financial Literacy, and knowing your BS to name a few. Members of the organization have a voice, our executive team does not make all of the decisions. Our team is most excited about what we have been able to accomplish since we gained our current members in January 2020. It has been a journey for us, we initially started with nine members and the numbers continued to decline until we were left with a team of three. Just like any other family, we bumped heads and we disagreed. We spent hours planning and figuring out how we could make this work. The journey has had it’s roadblocks and speed bumps but we continue to strive to reach our goals. We overcome our obstacles by having open and honest communication. We are a new organization and so we continue to learn each others strengths and weaknesses.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Our itinerary would consists of the following: *Uptown Alley – Amazing Old Bay seasoned wings and a live band *Hondos- Serves the best Sunday Brunch *Scott’s Addition – Wine Station – This is a great Friday night spot. The atmosphere is chill, the people are great, and they have a wonderful selection of local bands. *Virginia’s Black Burial Ground – The site is a significant piece of both Virginia and American History. *Girl talk night with finger foods and wine *Walks along the river *Dinner at Southern Kitchen.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
EBO recognizes other Entrepreneurs, Brand Builders, and Business Owners who have paved the way for us to follow/model as this has helped us to learn, grow, and frame who we are both individually and collectively. We also recognize those who follow us, we strive to be the example of what success, hard work, and perseverance resemble.
