We had the good fortune of connecting with Enrique & Joslyn Dent and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
For starters, we pride ourselves in being the 1st minority owned business tire wholesalers that was started with a small fraction of cryptocurrency. Through perseverance, hard work and determination, we were able to scale our business by leveraging our 50+ years of expertise in finance, risk management, managerial sales, automotive and customer service to build a 7-figure business which has sustained for 5 years now. It definitely was not easy, but we can say that it was calculated, methodical, & strategic. We utilized vision boards, to set short & long term goals. To which we crushed every goal set forth! We have learned to understand our customer’s needs as well as their customer’s needs. It’s a difference between the two and it requires lengthy conversations to understand the varying dynamics. It’s not always 50/50 in business, there will be times when you’re giving more than you’re receiving and you have to learn to be alright with that knowing that there is a bigger picture to what you’re sacrificing today to gain tomorrow. Every deal is not always about money! There’s relationships involved, that requires the exchange of knowledge & resources. So, there must be open & honest communication and those relationships needs to be protected and respected.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First thing in the morning, you’ve got to get your blood flowing with a great workout at Stone Mountain Park; either up the mountain or around it. Then nourish your body with freshly made and a healthier version of breakfast at First Watch. Or, if you’re looking for a change of environment, the Corner Cafe in Buckhead has chicken & waffles that’ll have you salivating hours after your meal. To walk off your breakfast, let’s head to the Battery for fun, shopping and to even catch a baseball game with the Atlanta Braves. Later, take a break at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Downtown Atlanta. Next, let’s head to West Midtown for more fun and to enjoy the night life of Atlanta at the Painted Duck – bowling with lots of games nestled along the walls and live music all night. For fine dining, Capital Grille – Buckhead is a must! Their steaks do not need any steak sauce; seriously. Now, to take a walk into chivalry at Medieval Times; half of a baby dragon (chicken) with dragon blood (tomato soup) served by the best wenches in town (LOL). To unwind and relax to the melodic tunes of jazz at The Velvet Note. Then enjoy a movie in at Atlanta’s upscale movie theatre, iPic in Midtown Atlanta. For more fun & food, let’s take a trip to Top Golf. Relax and unwind and enjoy the the water animals at the Georgia Aquarium. Let’s round out the trip at Ponce City Market, Rooftop drinks, fun and live jazz at City Winery. Finally, if you’re feeling a little Caribbean, Footprints Caribbean Restaurant & Lounge is a must go.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
In the early stages of our business, we encountered obstacles in our business model. There were key components missing, mainly our ability to obtain large quantities of tires at a reasonable wholesale price. If it wasn’t for the kindness of a very good associate Joe Minix, Owner of Minix & Son Tire Service. He was a source of inspiration as well as he staked his reputation and leveraged his purchasing power to help us secure our very 1st distribution deal which set us on the road to endless possibilities and profitability. Which in turn made us well sought after contenders in the wholesale tire industry based off the business model we created.
