We had the good fortune of connecting with Eno Umoh and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Eno, how do you think about risk?
Taking risks is essential to being a successful business owner. A risk has two possibilities either a good outcome or a bad outcome. There’s a 50/50 chance it’ll work out so why not try. Without taking a risk and starting my hair collection and beauty service I wouldn’t be where I am today. I am a firm believer in with risk comes reward.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a hairstylist and business owner residing in Atlanta and the DMV. I sell Mink Brazilian and Raw Indian luxury hair extensions as well as provide hair services like wig installs, sew ins, etc. What sets me apart from others is my customer service. I like to please my customers and you absolutely won’t leave my chair until you’re satisfied. Putting a smile on each clients face is a goal for me every time I go to work. I am most proud of my hair business and also how I customize my frontals and closures to look like real hair. My plucking technique is different than most stylists. How I got to this point is hard work and dedication. Fighting through the challenges of the adapting hair culture and different trends is a lot you have to learn constantly but I’m up to the challenge. Learning from your mistakes is also important, not being afraid to fail because there’s also another chance to succeed. I want the world to know that I am dedicated to my craft and want to bless others as well making people look good makes me feel good inside. I started doing hair in my basement in Maryland and now I’ve expanded to a suite in Atlanta. Anything can happen in life all you have to do is take a step.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were to visit Atlanta I would take her to Pasha of course the food, drinks and vibe are everything. Then we would definitely have to go to Lenox and do a little shopping during the week. I love to bowl so I would take her to the upscale bowling alley called the painted pin. Then to some local lounges over the weekend. Then on Sunday we would go to Toast. Their brunch is impeccable.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Honestly, I would like to first thank my clients because without them I wouldn’t be as successful as I am. I have an increasing and loyal clientele who have no problem spreading the word about me which is why my clientele continues to increase in the DMV and Atlanta. Word of mouth is everything these days and I appreciate my clients who contribute to my success. I Would also like to thank my mother because she pushes me everyday to do better than the last. She really believes in me even more than I do myself and knows I will be great one day. She constantly gives me expanding ideas and tries to get me out of my comfort zone which is when great things happen.
