We had the good fortune of connecting with Enaiyah Martin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Enaiyah, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Growing up, I watched my mom run her own business and it inspired me. I started my first business, making beaded bracelets, in elementary school. I operated that business through middle school and the beginning of high school. After a while, the business was at a standstill. So I thought of other things I could do as a stream of income. I chose to start practicing nails the rest is history! I now have been doing nails professionally for 3 years and have a small, online nail supply store as well.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
During the pandemic, like everyone in the world, I was trying to find my niche. Something I enjoyed doing that could also bring in money and I chose to start practicing nails. I ordered a nail kit off of Amazon and with the help of my mom and YouTube I kept practicing how to do acrylic nails and the rest is history! I have now been doing nails for going on 3 years and have a small, online nail supply store as well.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First, I would take them to the downtown Atlanta area. We would stop to eat lunch at Thrive Atlanta, then we would go to the mall to do some shopping. Over the next few days of their trip, we’d go to Atlantic Station watch a movie or go bowling and do a little more shopping and walk the Atlanta BeltLine. And the last few days would be filled with things they’ve seen on social media and would like to try and visit.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First, I would like to say that without God, I wouldn’t be anywhere. With that being said, I feel that He uses my mother as a vessel to keep me going! My mom is my #1 supporter and the one who pushes me to keep going even when I want to give up.
