We had the good fortune of connecting with Emmanuel Dieke and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Emmanuel, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I retired from the NFL in 2016 due to injury. I took a year off to focus on my mental health and to figure out what’s next after football. I’ve always had a passion for health and fitness and I didn’t want to work for anyone so I decided to get into the health wellness industry. Me and some friends started doing Isagenix and hosting boot camps around the city but eventually we went our separate ways. I started my mobile personal training in 2017.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My biggest satisfaction is seeing the confidence and maturation in my clients physically and mentally. We all need that extra push in life in order to become the best version of ourselves. It wasn’t easy starting my business 2017. I had about 3 clients starting off but I stayed consistent and humble Hardest thing in life is to believe in yourself when your circumstances isn’t ideal. I credit all my success to God. Without him I’m nothing but with him I’m everything. My brand is built on hard-work, dedication and a no quit attitude. My story is still being written so I’m excited to see what God has in store for me.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came to Atlanta where would I take him? Great question.

I’m married so I can’t go to the places I use to go lol but I’ll take him to Snooze for some breakfast/brunch. They have some of the best pancakes in the city. Maybe go to a Falcons or Hawks game. We have to get some wings because Atlanta is known for their wings. The nightlife here is very diverse so any type of bar, lounge, etc.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to thank every coach I’ve had during my playing career. I’ve had great mentors that have encouraged me. My wife and step daughter have been my source of strength and motivation. My family has been instrumental in my development with their love and support.
