We had the good fortune of connecting with Emily Loftiss and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Emily, what role has risk played in your life or career?

All my careers have revolved around risk. I started my first career as a professional dancer/Radio City Rockette in NYC from a small town in Georgia (Thomasville). I moved with no job, living in a tiny apartment with my two best friends from college with a hope and a dream. Within 1 month I landed a dance agent, on hold for an Ebay national commercial and had a call back for a Broadway show.

Later I moved into Television Hosting auditioning against journalist majors and veterans in the entertainment industry. I knew I was a good talker and just needed to figure it out along the way. I began by creating a reel (all out of fake situations because no one would hire me yet) and took free jobs on Craigslist to get experience. From New York Fashion Week to emceeing in Times Square to selling out live on QVC… I throw myself into the fire and figure it out.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

When I began my hosting career, I had to quickly decide my niche. I contemplated the Hollywood Gossip route, but I wanted to make a difference in how others look and feel about themselves. That’s when I began my brand ‘Everyday Glam.’ I love sharing products, styling, and beauty tips to help others feel fabulous every single day. It’s never about expensive designer products but simple ways to upgrade your look on a budget.

Subscribe to my monthly newsletter “Everyday Glam Gazette” where I hand pick products for you. A friend called it “Goop- for Everyday People.” Everything from fashion, beauty, skincare, home, kiddos, wellness plus discount codes to help you save money! I also offer styling sessions if you need to revamp your wardrobe or want to have the perfect looks for your next big vacation!

Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram/Facebook too- I’m always sharing Everyday Glam tips and tricks there!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

If I had friends pop into town I would want to do fun family activities like the Zoo and Aquarium (we have season tickets). After the kiddos were worn out- the adults would hit Bones for a delicious steak dinner and incredible ambiance.

Shopping is always a blast at Shops at Buckhead with a leisurely long lunch at Le Bilboquet.

Lastly, a gorgeous Sunday stroll at the Botanical Gardens to soak up the stunning weather and cherry blossom trees.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

I would love to credit my mentors (now friends) who saw talent in me before I had the resume to go with it.
