We had the good fortune of connecting with Emily Gagne and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Emily, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
That children ages 3 and under are vulnerable for sex trafficking. The Hope Box works to bring awareness to this issue and to educate people in the community to preve

nt this. We have successfully saved several infants from being trafficked.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
After graduating from Kennesaw State University in 2020 with a degree in Human Services, I began working with The Hope Box as the Volunteer Coordinator. Transitioning to this job was very natural and seemed like a perfect fit for my personality. I have loved getting to work with others in support of a cause that I am truly passionate about. I have learned so much in this position. One of the main lessons I have learned is how to work with many different types of people and to engage people to work together toward a common goal.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were in town we would start our day with a long walk to a coffee shop. Then we would spend time with some other friends. Later on in the day I would take them a nice sit down dinner at one of my favorite restaurants in Kennesaw, called Bernie’s. Afterward, we would have a nice quiet evening in, with drinks by a fire pit.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give my shoutout to The Hope Box. The Hope Box is a 501(c)3 organization who rescues at-risk and abandoned infants in the state of Georgia. We also train Safe Haven providers throughout the state, and educate people on the Safe Haven Law. This law allows a mother to anonymously relinquish her right to her infant in order to place her infant into safe hands, Working with this organization has been life changing. The leadership have been amazing mentors to me as I have grown in my professional career. It has been an amazing opportunity to advocate for people and help others. I am truly grateful for all this organization does.
