We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Nichols and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sarah, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I romanticize risks. I full heartedly trust that everything will be okay no matter the initial outcome. This makes me prone to go with the flow of whatever my heart aches for. I use to be very careless with my risks, though. I romanticized my goals too much to think that anything could go wrong. My plans were never thought out or structured but I refused to let realism get in the way of my dreamy lifestyle. Taking risks has forced me to learn and has shown what’s actually important to me. I’ve become more calculated and structured.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Of course it wasn’t easy. Life felt pretty devastating a lot of the time. I had to force myself to keep moving despite not having any faith in myself in certain moments. I learned that collaboration is key. It doesn’t need to be lonely at the top, so lift others up as you climb. You’ll climb higher together.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Brian K McQuain is credited for my life in fashion photography. I was an amateur photographer when he met me but he recognized my passion. He spent countless hours teaching me about studio lighting, photo editing, fashion designers, and even let me use his studio endlessly. I would not be nearly as talented and confident as I am without his never-ending compassion. For fitness, I owe it all to Josh Wilson. I met him when I first began anorexia recovery. I just started working out but quickly realized I wanted to become a personal trainer. Josh took a chance on me. I got certified, got hired, and found my inner sales shark. I’m three years into fitness now and two years into fitness sales. The man is a beast that taught me everything I know.
