We had the good fortune of connecting with Emily Cash and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Emily, what are you inspired by?
I am inspired by making my dreams come true, sharing my gifts with the world, and learning from everyone I meet. I love how unique everyone is and capturing their different personalities through my lens. I could take the same picture of 100 people, but each one would be different because you can see their personality shine through their expressions. I leave every session smiling so big because I genuinely love making those connections with different people during sessions. I have an hour session to make people feel comfortable and have a good time. I believe what you look like is the least important thing about you, but I am passionate about capturing people’s inner beauty. I am surrounded by people that inspire me so much. One of my favorite things to capture is Highspeed Dreams playing live music because you can feel the energy jump out of the picture. They are all so talented, so it is incredible to catch them when they are in their zone.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My photography is an outlet for me to be create art out of real authentic moments. Life is short, and I have always valued being able to hold onto beautiful moments longer through pictures. I am most proud of myself for the confidence I have built over the past 2 years in my photography. I have showed up to countless sessions without knowing anything about the person. It is so exciting to me because we don’t know anything about each other, but they trust me to capture their graduation, wedding, engagement, and family. It is truly an honor that I don’t take for granted and being confident in my work is such a great feeling. I have learned a lot about myself by putting myself out of my comfort zone and have had so many “ohhhh” moments along the way. The coolest part about photography is that even if you feel like you know what you’re doing, there is always a way to push yourself and learn more. I am still learning at every session. I want people to know that as a photographer, I still think that what you look like on the outside is the least interesting thing about you. My goal at my sessions is to capture people for who they truly are and their inner beauty. That is why taking pictures of people doing what they love is so much for me because they are in their element.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I just moved to Jax Beach, and I highly recommend taking a walk through both the downtown Jax Beach area and the downtown Atlantic Beach area. Some of my favorite spots are Casa Marina happy hour, V’s Pizza (must get the Hawaiian), Sliders, and Oku!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout goes out to Highspeed Dreams. I watched their band come to life, and I’ll never forget the day they all met up in my living room for the first time to jam. They are all individually so talented, and when they come together it is so natural and powerful. I have gone to every gig, whether I am the only one in the crowd or in a crowd of thousands. They let me behind stage and on stage with my camera, and I am so lucky to share such incredible experiences with them. I always want to surround myself with people who believe in themselves and make things happen like they do.
