We had the good fortune of connecting with Emily Austin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Emily, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Ah, the inception of my own business! Well, picture this: a burst of inspiration, a sprinkle of passion, and a dash of ‘Why not?’ attitude! It all began with a craving for creativity and a thirst for freedom. I wanted to break free from the traditional 9-to-5 grind and chart my own path in the entrepreneurial world, whilst being able to stay home with my two boys. Plus, who doesn’t love the thrill of building something of your own from the ground up? Every step of the way, I’ve been fueled by the joy of making my own rules, pursuing my passions, and turning dreams into reality.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Absolutely! Solo Social Co isn’t just your run-of-the-mill social media management agency – oh no! We’re all about forming personal relationships with our clients and giving them the 1-on-1 attention of a small agency with the results of a larger firm. I feel like we have a unique blend of creativity, strategy, and hustle! Solo Social Co. is not just here to manage your socials; we’re here to make them shine like never before!
Even though I say that we are still in our “humble beginnings” phase, it’s still been one heck of a wild ride and I can’t wait to see where we grow from here!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, since most if not all of my friends are parents, it would be pretty kid heavy – but still incredibly fun!
A few musts for kids would be the Georgia Aquarium, Zoo Atlanta, and Stone Mountain! For fancy eats, I would recommend none other than Bones Steakhouse in Buckhead – they are absolutely incredible there. I also love True Food Kitchen at Lenox Square Mall – great atmosphere and healthy options to fuel a day of shopping.
I would also recommend tons of things going north on 85 in and around Gwinnett county – as that is home base for me and I am far more familiar!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely! I want to give a massive shoutout to my rock-solid support system: my incredible husband, my amazing kiddos, my mom, and also my father-in-law, who was not only my first real client but also a constant source of encouragement for both myself and my husband. Here’s to family – the real MVPs in Solo Social Co’s journey!
