Meet Emery Giles | Dart Wars 2U teenage Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Emery Giles and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Emery, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Well, I was 11 years old when I ask my mom to start the company. We had a Nerf party for my 11th birthday and all of my friends and I had so much fun there parents were asking what company we hired. So I asked my Mom could we actually start a company to help other kids have epic Nerf Parties like mine. She said yes it was a great idea and she started it right away.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a really busy kid and have been since I was 11. I’m 16 now. I am still a high School student. I play football which is really demanding. I’m also an honor student,  so that too keeps me busy. My Mom plays the largest part in our success. It’s not as easy as people may think. The hardest part is we give up every weekend to help other kids have a great birthday. With our company we offer a unique experience because we do not use blowups as our battle zone. We use a custom colorful field that gives you the feel of paintball. We do a complete transformation of our clients yards, park or gym. We are most proud of how our team does a great job making sure every party is exciting. The birthday boy or girl ends there party with feelings they just had the most epic Nerf party in Atlanta. I have learned so much about work ethic, professionalism, and how to really help kids have good clean fun. We are looking to expand in a few ways, but keep an eye out for some new fun packages coming in 2024 and a glow dance party package, that we are so happy to launch.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Because I’m only 16, I don’t have many places that I go, but I know my mom would say brunch in Atlanta is the best. We both really love brunch. I’m sure she will start at breakfast at Barney’s, she is always talking about it. I would take them to the football hall of fame and the aquarium is super cool as well. There is another place that I have not done yet that I really want to try is Beat the bomb. I heard great things about it.  I will also take them there. Lastly, even though this is not just an Atlanta thing we would also go to top golf which is also one of my favorite places.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My Mom played a huge part in setting up everything with the business, driving one of our crews, designing our battlefield, and teaching me along the way. Also my Dad who helps with maintaining the trailers and also runs a crew for our parties.
