We had the good fortune of connecting with Emanuel Jones II and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Emanuel, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to solve a need within my community. I saw that financial literacy was not only lacking, but so were the amount of licensed financial professionals. It lead to the rise of influencer with little to no credentials giving blanketed advice that was not always suitable for everyone. I felt that we deserved better. I felt that we should have advisors on the highest levels that spoke to our generation and encourage proper action to better position finances for ourselves and our families to come.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Jones & Co Wealth Strategies is a boutique financial firm. We pride ourselves on “not being your father’s financial firm”, meaning we make a point to customize financial plans that match your goals and ambitions along with staying relevant to today’s turbulent financial environment. Throughout the process we will take time to educate you on the ins and outs of financial literacy so you have a better understanding of where your money is going and why.

Starting a firm was extremely difficult because you have to show and prove to the large financial institution that you are equipped to stand on your own and run a firm. We are partnered with some of the largest insurance and financial institution in the country which allows us to utilize their whole suite of products and investment solutions for our clients.

As a licensed investment advisor, I have the knowledge, credentials, and regulatory accountability from the SEC to provide financial advice on any level of income and small corporations. Passing all those exams and keeping compliance was the largest initial hurdle.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
During this time of the year some of my favorite spots would include Iman Park & West Midtown for some day time activity and drinks. We may check out some of the new rooftop pool openings. After that, we would catch at a plethora of places in Buckhead or at The Consulate, my favorite restaurant in midtown.

If we are really feeling lucky, we may take a 2 hr drive to the casino in NC right pass the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank my father for instilling the entrepreneurship spirit within me. He also has always been a force of integrity and service, so those are the foundational pillars of my company.

I would like to thank my mother for encouraging me to blaze my own trail without fear and with constant prayer.

I would like to thank my friends, family and fraternity, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc, for believing in me and becoming some of my first clients.
