We had the good fortune of connecting with E’mani Maverick and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi E’mani, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
After years of solitude during my middle school and high school years I began to develop skills that would later be the start of my business . I have always enjoyed dancing and have been dancing since the early years of my life . My mom struggled with cancer and would use extracurricular activities to help keep my siblings and I distracted from the pain she was in. My mother had a love for dance herself and was my biggest supporters during the years she was here in my life . Church was a big deal for my mom as I was raised in the church. Being raised in the church my mom also allowed for me to join the choir and dance ministry. Dance and music began for me in the church and later in my youth spread to the school house. By this time I was fully in love with arts and music. When I was in 3rd grade I began my journey with writing poetry and entering competitions. I won a writing contests while in school. These early experiences shaped my time of solitude after the lost of my mom. I began to dig deeper into myself during middle school and high school as I was inhibited from maintains friendships . I began to practice the skills I learned in my early youth and found an even deeper love for my artistic expression !
So in my later adult years the one thing that remained constant was my love for the arts . So then the creation of my personal brand .

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

I call myself a creator. Divine feminine and spiritual gangster . Imma brand is centered around being well-rounded in all areas of art. I enjoy singing , writing, dancing, and acting. I also have learned skillsets like makeup and hairstyling and nails as I enjoy being able to have full artistic creation. I believe that we are all connected and so with what sets me apart is also they’ll very things that keeps us together as that would be my ability to create the life I desire through consistency in ALL areas. I do not believe I am or will ever be just one things as I am multi-dimensional and always finding ways to improve . I believe as a human one of our greatest capacities is change and discipleship for the desires that we hold. Nothing is impossible and everything is attainable. I am most excited about my journey here as everyday I will continue to evolve.
Getting to where I am today took me removing my doubt, alot of inner self work and God. Nothing worth having is easy . The biggest lesson I learned is Most of the time you’ll battle yourself fighting the doubts and insecurities that prevent us from reaching our fullest potential. I also learned it takes dedication and motivation to what to reprogram your mind so that you may have the desires of our hearts. What I wants also wants me is my favorite affirmation .
I want the world to know this is just the beginning they will soon be hearingj and seeing a lot more from me.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ok, so if I had friends visiting Atlanta the places we would definitely have to see on their trip would be Sexy swagg dance class -great for all levels!
Spice house carribean restaurant – a good meal is always good for the soul. The food here is made with love ~a key ingredient ~
Reverb hotel downtown hip hotel- great for artist to meet other artists / start a podcast or radio show /if you’re looking for inspiration look no further .
Gurl Mobb museum – great place to take photos and an experience full of creativity !
These are all places in my opinion that are good for the mind body and soul. I enjoy being in environments that inspire me to create. All of these places I can go to repeatedly for the positive impact they have had on my life .

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

I want to shout out the people and businesses I’ve encountered on my journey that have given me an opportunity to experience something new and learn . I would first love to shout out Vonte render my first engineer who helped me start my music collection and believed in all my ideas and helped me bring them to life . I would also shout out Diane ford ! That’s the owner of sexy swagg classes as she has been a great teacher and the ways that dance has healed me I’d start with God for giving others purpose so that we too may find ours. I would also like to shout out Celeste Celeste a movie director who opened my eyes that anything is possible as long as you believe . I auditioned for her movie and didn’t even know that it would open my mind and lead me to creating my own path . Celeste Celeste as well as the actors were all so inspiring during some of my darkest times and they probably don’t even know it. I believe we always get reflections and so ppl we meet are examples of who we can be. Every actor and actress in the room was very inspirational striding big and making moves! I would also say my older sister Keisha who recently passed away. She was one of the first people to ever believe in me and although external validation isn’t important but it is good to see you are not alone. Having family that love you and want to see you win is a blessing . Cherish your loved ones. And last but not least my daughter Alina-Janel. She taught me that I can be whatever I want . Becoming a hotmama was hard and well worth it as I pray she too knows she can create the positive impact in this world as long as she believes and puts God first.
