We had the good fortune of connecting with Elaina Hayes and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Elaina, what inspires you?
I am inspired by my kids. I know it sounds very cliché and “mommy-like,” but I literally am. I see so much of myself in them, especially my 4 year old. She is so lively and confident and I never want that to be dimmed, like it was in me. I want them to know that they can do anything they put their minds to. So, I push myself, so that while I’m inspired by them, they can also be inspired by me. I also am inspired by my husband, he literally makes stuff happen for us, REGARDLESS. His go getter, never quit mentality is so inspiring.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a content creator/mom IMPACTOR(I’ll get into that later). I created this page for regular “Muvas” to see that you can still be a bomb mom with out a bunch of money, expensive labels, and matching family outfits. I created this page to show how raw motherhood, pregnancy, childbirth and parenting is. This journey was very, very easy, in the beginning. I was posting daily, having bi-weekly lives, and just getting so much engagement, until Instagram stop gramming, lol. When it stopped, I got super discouraged and would only post here or there. But I didn’t create this page for views, I created it for my family and supporters. So, I pushed through. I want to know that you will see the brand and name on BIG platforms one day. I want the world to know that Muva’s are Superheroes!!!! I say impactor, based off of what I’ve been told. I’m not trying to influence anyone to do anything, I’m trying to make a difference in the lives of people and I’ve been told that I have done just that. For that I am grateful!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
So, being a DMV( DC, MD,VA) native, and now living in OKC, I have been able to be a tourist in OKC. I’m very big on black owned businesses and patronizing those businesses. OKC has a plethora of Black Owned Restaurants and Food Trucks, I would take them to ICE Event Center, Florence’s, The Daiquiri Bar, East Side Pizza House, (all black owned) and so many other places, I can’t even name! There is a famous Chicken spot, about 20-30 minutes outside of OKC, it was the first bar in the state of Oklahoma, called Eishen’s. The chicken is UNMATCHED! They serve the chicken on WAX PAPER, THAT IS YOUR PLATE!
There is a riverboat ride, in downtown OKC, that we typically take everyone. It tells you a lot about the state and is very informative. We would also go to the best Ramen spot in OKC– Goro Ramen, in the Paseo District. I love live music and karaoke, so that would most definitely be in the plan. After that, we’d probably visit one of OKC’s eateries in Midtown, where they have multiple restaurants. I mean ultimately, we’d eat, if you haven’t picked it up by now, YOUR GIRL LOVES FOOD! My husband cooks a meannnnnnnnnn crab meal, so we always treat our guests with crabs!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Of course GOD! He is the reason I’m here today. My husband Donovan, my girls, Dylan and Dallas, my parents & brother, and honestly everybody who has supported me thus far! Especially, my “Herstory” family. The support, encouragement, uplift, and love I’ve received has been completely unbelievable in these 10 months of having this platform.
