We had the good fortune of connecting with Ej, Gumbosa, Wayne and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ej, Gumbosa, Wayne, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
What makes Free Gems Network so special is that as individuals we already had our own businesses. That much knowledge between the 3 of us made it easier to get this one up and running.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
On our platform, we spotlight creatives from our city, Columbus Ga. Unlike most shows or podcast, the show is not about us. This is a hour plus dedicated to the guest to showcase what they bring to the table.

We got to this point by trial and error. Each of us has tried to do something similar as individuals, but it wasn’t till we collaborated that we found our groove.

Some of the lessons we learned is that at the end of the day, the show is our show. We learned how to market properly and to navigate through some of the misconceptions of the point of our show.

We want the world to know that Free Gems Network will make it our business to shine the light on creatives the proper way. No click bait , just honest stories and Gem filled conversations.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would go to various studios to hear some great music first. After that, we would probably hit up 18th Amendment. That’s a cigar bar downtown and it’s a cool vibe. To eat, we have to hit up Supreme Smoke BBQ. A couple of my friends are vegan but they’ll look out with the side plates.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We would like to Shout out FSL JP. We have been instrumental in each other’s journey by way of collaboration on his project FSL World. We collaborated on his single ‘Who Cares Remix’, where Willmatic Beats produced the record and Gumbosa on the fire guest verse. Also JP has collaborated with Free Coast Records artist Mazi on songs like Woah.
