We had the good fortune of connecting with Eddie Izenady and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Eddie, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
It started while thinking how can I still be active without being a basketball player any longer. I started falling in love with the gym as a new release. A few people wanted to seek my help because they took notice. This is when I thought to myself, I should get certified and really help others.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I love training people because it’s more than just helping people’s physique. It’s about helping them mentally and spiritually as well. I often say I bring the science back into the weight room, breaking down everything you must know you’re engaging. It’s not easy learning the body and learning so many different personalities but it’s worth hearing people speak on your name with such grace. The gym is my sanctuary and my clients are usually my disciples. The goal is to always create different versions of myself and push out to the world so it’ll multiply. My teachings aren’t suppose to stay in one place.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh man so many in the A! Depends on the person really. I love to dance so Rock Steady – Bamba Tuesdays is a great start. They have good food, great drinks, and most importantly a great vibe to dance to. This is the main reason why I also created my Vibez in the Day, to bring like minded people around to have a great time in the city. Also, for good Haitian food you must try Ole. Two more spots for sure would be Eclipse di luna and Divan with some great food and drinks. Then I would say Painted Duck or anything around the interlock because there’s so much attractions.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Most of all my former manager back in the day Rodney Redmond. He was the one who kept pushing me to get certified and work with kids at first. He put me in a program to learn and grow and the rest is history.
