We had the good fortune of connecting with Ebony Murray and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ebony, what do you want people to remember about you?
I want my legacy to be that I went after what I wanted in life. I want people, especially my future children and family, to always remember that I was not afraid to work for what I wanted (even with risks) and that there’s always a blessing in walking in the lane God sets out for you. I want to be remembered as a woman who was someone who you could vent to, a woman who would help in the time of need, and a woman who genuinely loved people.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I have always enjoyed cooking. My parents owned two restaurants back in the day, so I have always been around the business of serving others with food. In high school, I took a culinary arts class and quickly fell in love with the art. At one point, I was the main one cooking dinner at home because I had just taken over the kitchen. It is truly a passion for me. In 2018, I made an Instagram page (just for a food diary) not knowing I would eventually have a successful business. Bellyfull, LLC was established in 2019. It was around Valentine’s Day and my dad suggested I sell some chocolate covered strawberries, so I did. I had TONS of orders. I eventually got really good with that and added more treats. In 2020, I begin to start cooking for others and then eventually started full blown catering and event private dining, which I absolutely love. What sets me apart from others is my age. I just turned 23 in January and I am also a nursing student! I pride myself in having a business while in a rigorous program. To get where I am now, I am purposely consistent with content on social media and always sharing my brand. I am learning that I will continue to attract the right clients. I am setting my business up now and laying down the ground work so that it is a highly respected business and it comes with a territory. I want people to say, “Wow, Bellyfull catered your event????”

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Atlanta has so many options for a good time. Friday-brunch at Fin and Feathers, trip to Atlantic Station, pick up dinner from King Crab ATL
Saturday-picnic at Piedmont Park, movies at Ipic
Sunday-breakfast at ABC, bqe lounge

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shout out my parents, who have always been there to guide me in life. I love y’all!
